Crappy CPU trades.

Crappy CPU trades.

Postby nzspurs on Fri Dec 01, 2006 9:03 pm

Some CPU trades that occur when in dynasty mode are seriously dumb and quite laughable. One of my favourites was when Detriot traded Rasheed Wallace for Steve Nash even though they already had an all-star PG in Billups. Chauncy spent the year rotting away on the bench and the team suffered.

Share some stories of EA's brainless CPU trading here.

yeah! i've got that experience! watch this: utah and denver: AK 47 goes to utah and play in starting 5 as SF and MELO IS SITTING on the BENCH! , utah get Martin and Boozer is on the bench! this is killing me!

Diddy, for the game, benching Boozer is a logical decision for K-Mart. Remember, the ratings may not be accurate to actual performances from this year (and yes sometimes they seem to not be based on anything). Boozer has a 73 rating while K-mart I believe is an 84. It almost seems like a no brainer to a computer. And if i'm not mistaken AK47 is rated just slightly higher than Melo and thats all the computer needs.

illini, yeah, for boozer it's ok! but it's stupid! 47 and melo are foundamentally different! and this trade can be good only if: 47 starts like PF, and in jass - martin stays, but boozer must go in exchange for some nice SF or SG!

Not truly that BAD a trade: for wade/bosh. Once again it all comes to play style. If you dont use your SG much, and you need a PF (which miami would) then it makes sense to get a good one. I honestly have still yet to get the hang of guards in this game and do just as well with ones rated 70 and rated 90

Yao Ming for Dirk Nowitzki. McGrady's numbers were falling, Dirk was averaging 30+ ppg and Houston won the Championship.

Whats wrong the duncan shaq trade? You guys are forgetting context. It always matters whether a trade is good or bad; in context. Unless you get a billups for Cato situation (which is rare) like above; post a little more context and we'll see if its TRULY a bad trade. Also, why do you think this is a bad trade? who do you think is getting fucked and who got a steal in the non obvious ones. Duncan for Shaq? hell some people might think that shaq is a better choice to have than duncan or vice versa....

It's pretty good, because Mavs need Center and Nuggets guard.

So I was playing against the Knicks and won 95-85 and then I simulated the rest of that day's games, then I checked my pager and there's a trade proposal. From the Knicks. They offer Balkman for Spanoulis. I was about to reject when this idea popped up in my head... I save my dynasty and accept the trade... Immediately I offer Balkman for Spanoulis. And the Knicks...accepted it...

It's nothing new, even in older version, computers did retarded trades like this, but only in the off-season and not very often, but when they do trade, it was usually a shit trade. NBA Live 07 makes this problem more visable because they trade more often. But at least they trade, so I prefer it this way.

both sound perfectly reasonable context in mind loko...thats what i've been trying to explain. Dont just say "'Zo for <insert young player here> CRAP!"...why do you think its crap? whats wrong with it? "i like 'zo" is not an excuse. So while a phenomenal player and one of my faves of all time is old and a salary liability for the most part and trading him away for jameer nelson seems like a great trade to me
