I know this is pretty much an nba live board but I finally convinced myself to pick up an xbox 360, so which game should I pick up?

At this moment I'd say 2k7. However, not that many reviews of both games have been released.
Bored.

Id go with live. I played the 2k7 demo and its good but i think i would rather have the Live version. The animations, players, and game look better. When i play 2k7 they just stand around, i tried to call plays but i didnt get much. Maybe im doing it wrong. But i would go with live.

There's many good feature in both games that is preventing me from deciding which game to get. I like: In 2K7, Team tendencies, 3 team trades, more realistic generated rookies, trade block, ability to play your poteintal draft picks in workouts, player cards, multi-team franchise, and the ability to save during the off-season. In Lve 07, ESPN Rumor Central, setting rotations, player chemistry, FSS, in the zone (X-factor), all star weekend, and team rivalries. I'm in BIG trouble!!

even though i've been an nba live fan since 99... i'd have to say go with 2k7. i have 2k6 and nba live 06 and 2k6 is way better than nba live 06.. the nba live 06 patching is good. but 2k6 itself is (Y)

just picked up the 360, still trying to decide on which one to get, don't think I can afford both, especially because there are some other games coming out soon... gears of war looks sweet

2k7 has better game play and they have signature jumpshots for real on 360 on their next gen. i would get 2k7 if i had a xbox360 but ill have to stick to 2k7 on a ps2

How can one game that hasn't been released have better gameplay than another game that hasn't been released :?:

perhaps I should just hold off until both are reviewed. I am definitly more of a simulation fan, if I want arcade I can fire up the old super nes and play nba jam

The NBA 2K series has always been more "sim" like, it's pretty realistic and from what I've seen so far it's looking even better this year. Live's basically a tuned down arcade game, so if you're looking for something realistic then 2K7, if you want something "fun" then live.

I certainly don't have enough money to buy a 360, but if I did, I'd probably get both. The HD videos of 2k7 on www.gametrailers.com look amazing, though they have recycled some animations from as far back as ESPN NBA Basketball which I've still got for PS2. However, I much prefer the controls and design of Live.

i personally like live better cos its dynasty mode is better than 2k's association mode. and thats basically all i play. but i agree 2k is alot more accurate and realistic

If I had a 360, I'd get 2k7. I just prefer a simulation over the arcadish bullshit EA Sports serves us with every year. PC doesn't give you a lot of choice, though. Looking at the pool and considering this is a NBA Live fansite it makes you realize how low Live fell. EA should seriously reconsider their definition of 'fun' - is it the graphics, dunks where your head is constantly over the rim and completely unrealistic plays or is 'having fun' the feeling you get after you're awarded with two points for breaking the opponent's defense and making a sweet 18' jumper. I want to do a basic two handed jam after a fundamental post move, goddamnit, not a behind the neck-under the balls 720 dunks.

Hahaha, I agree with you. Does EA have any particular target audience? It's gotta be the casual sports fan, while 2k7 seems to target "NBA Fans", people who know the game, and know whats going on enough to exploit the features 2k include in their games.

So your saying NBA 2K is better because Live has FSS moves?

Ok cool 2K doesn't have those moves but sure could have fooled me by the way I could dribble around PG's with my C's and PF's in the 2K7 demo. So, which is more arcadey having FSS moves or being able to do crossovers with my centers'?

What's wrong with you people :?: :?: :?:

2k6, and I guess 2k7, was good, good looking, good gameplay... but not that good !

when you start to play, you find many mistakes you can't fix with the sliders (and there are not a lot of sliders !!!).
I'll give Live a chance, 'cause I believe in LIVE...

But again, if live 07 is a remake of 2006 or 2003....
I'll probably go to 2k7.

But as far as I heard, Live07 will be the best sim game around !

And remember : "This has been done to death !"
