Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

hopefully 07 will take advantage of PC's latest techs

i hope NBA live would take advantage of the fact that many PC gamers now have power packed in thir pc's, if it supports SM3 effects, better AI and physics to tax 3ghz CpUs stuff lke that then that would be super

There's rumours circulating that the PC version might feature some of the improvements of the next-gen version but that's strictly speculation at this point.

well i hope they do... '06 was a let down tech wise for me.. (not that im bragging as my rig isnt high end) but its a waste of pc power when the game still runs smooth playing it at 1280X1024 highest details 8xsAA and 16AF and still getting 100+ fps.. i hoe they address this as issue as i believe most PC users now have decent rigs.
who are they catering to? celeron owners with integrated video? people with those setups are ofice users. gamers pack power in their pcs

Mmm I kind of agree with you, but saying "most PC users now have decent rigs" is highly debatable, at best. And besides, what a 'decent rig' is changes so often it might as well be Ashley Simpson's hair color.

I definitely think that they should design the base graphics at a higher level and allow them to be tweaked -down-.

hmm....a proper way would be:

push in some next-gen features into the game....not all....no pc could handle it^^....but some....like sweat and facial expressions....

and the abbility to just switch it off...like other graphic settings!....

so everyone could try if it runs....

I think a decent rig would have a close to 3ghz proccessor (or AMD equivelant) at least a 6600/9800 Pro or better and a gig of ram.

High end would have 2 gigs, 3ghz plus, and a 6800 plus. I think that if you have trouble running NBA live now you REALLY need an upgrade because its one of the least demanding games out there. I used to have a 5200 and i could max it out with 512mb of ram and get good frame rates, thats pretty sad for such a crappy card. There needs be a version that takes advantage of what new PC's can offer. Sort of like High Dynamic Range lighting Valve uses on the Half Life 2: Lost Coast level, or what Ghost Recon:Advance Warfighter uses with physics, they could do some pretty damn amazing stuff if they wanted to..... Just allow people to turn down the graphics or have them upgrade, I think having better graphics would make people who wouldnt normally want to buy it, buy it.

The game will be ported from the consoles... It will have the features and abilities that the consoles can do... Nothing more, nothing less...

PC game will most likely have no PC specific attributes... Since its been that way since NBA Live 2003...

I have pretty decent machine that runs Oblivion on High settings totally well and thus should have problems with anything EA can come up for the consoles...

What PC specific attributes were there prior to 2003?

The most significant PC specific feature was the user interface, which didn't require so much back and forth and features drop down and pop up menus.

Up to NBA Live 2001, the user interface was made for the PC and then ported to the consoles... Since the consoles couldn't handle those UIs well they nerfed the PC UI so they could make similar UIs for the game for all the platforms...

That just sucks... The greatest UI of all sports games I've ever played has been on NHL 2003... They threw it out as well and now the UI just sucks for the PC...

If we were to get NHL 2003 type of an UI for NBA Live 07, you guys would see what a GREAT user interface can do for a game... I have wondered about leaving that behind in the EAs NHL games...

NHL 2003 UI was a master piece... Just something incredible! It should be the basis of all their sports games platforms...

It was just easy to use and nothing was more than 2 clicks away! Think about it when you play NBA Live 06 the next time... And most of the day-to-day stuff you needed to know were displayed right on the main display... It was no menu!!! Or a calendar! It was like a web page with the page divided into different sections... And how wonderfully it could have evolved during the releases since then!

Garh I've always wanted to see this Godly UI and then I image google search NHL 2003 and I found a screen of the UI and Metsis is correct, it's the best fucking UI I've ever seen.

your other specs are ok but you'll probly hav to play at lower resolutions with a fx5200...

so any word on a release date for the pc version? does it come out for all the platforms at different times, or the same? god i can't wait, sick of 06 now... there's no mention of '07 on the easports website...

It's a little too early for any concrete release dates. Judging by previous years I'd say anywhere from late September to early November would be a decent bet.

You'll be able to max out all the graphic settings on a 5200, i had a 128mb 5200 and i could max out NBA live 06 no problem at all. Other games you'll have a problem with, Live 06, not so much.

Yea that pretty much tells it, if you can run Live on a fx5200, EA really needs to make improvments on the graphics side. Fx5200 is at least 3-4 years old and when it came out, it was supposed to be a mid-range card. I had one before, and it ran decently, but had to replace it not long after. I'm really hoping to take advantage of my 7800GT and Opteron 165 before they become old.

yeah me too, and San Andreas runs alright on a 5200 as long as you turn down the graphics, i could run it ok, but it could get skippy at times.

This is what I've been frikkin moaning about for so long... Why have they moved away from this UI is beyond anything resembling anything logical... Everything is just 2 clicks away... Not menu after menu after menu to finally get to change your roster positioning for the next game!

Or to check up who's on top of the scoring charts or how are your play-off hopes doing... You can see it on the main screen!

There's a recap of the last game available and if someone got hurt in that game, there's a direct link to "edit lines" screen...

The coach "what do you want me to do?" messages could certainly use a link to go straight to the work out assignment screen...

The Power Rankings emails could use extra info... For example what is the team standing in conference and overall... In addition to the current Power Ranking.

And maybe get an email at the end of the month that states top people on your team that are among leaders in the NBA... Like "Kobe Bryant is 2nd in the league in points", "Kevin Garnett leads the league in rebounding", "Ben Wallace is leading the league in blocked shots" and other team related news like "We were 9-7 in January", "There are no current injuries" or "Kenyon Martin is still out for 2 weeks due to a leg injury"... Just to get an overall image of how are you doing and what are you doing...

But anyways... Get NHL 2003 UI to each and all sports games EA... That would be a really wise choice...
