Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

Guys, I love this game with the Supreme mod and the proper slider settings. I think the graphics are amazing.
I just screamed out loud in joy when the fix I found online tonight worked. It's related to the Creative sound cards. I'll just paste what someone else wrote because I have a season to play! To give credit where it's due, it was posted by alwayz0npoint on this forum in 07. Not sure why no one else found this.
I have figured out the problem on my machine. I too tried all of the things that were mention above and still failed. The solution, at least for my system, was to disable CTHELPER.exe and CTXFIHLP.exe in msconfig. Apparently there is a conflict between these two Creative driver services and NBALive 2007 causing the game to crash at the Quit Game point. Please try this out and get back to me and let me know what happends. Thanks,Hope i helped.

Huh? I've been trying to get this game working for about 4 months and have been scouring the internet with no solutions. I found (on the internet, that is) and nobody is interested? I've read nothing but hundreds of frustrated posts about this game crashing... Oh well. I hope this ends up helping ppl.

I hope so, too. I never had an issue with any program from creative and Live. It was random for me when I got crashes. It has also happened to people who don't have a creative sound card.

You've got to remember that NBA Live 07 has been out a while now so there's not as much activity in this section of the Forum. Not everyone experiences the random crashes and those who do experience it have either moved on to NBA Live 08, gone back to playing an older game in the series or are no longer playing NBA Live. Your efforts are certainly appreciated but a lot of people have simply moved on one way or the other.

I tried this but I don't know what your talking about. How does this work?

You just need to go to Start, Run, and type in msconfig , then hit Enter. Then on the startup tab, uncheck the boxes next to CTHELPER.exe and CTXFIHLP.exe. Then restart.

What if you dont have either of those in your startup box?

It took me some troubleshooting during several reinstallations to get the game to stop crashing. I went into safe mode as the Administrator, disabled all non-microsoft programs like antivirus, firewall, including disabling the internet connection. Then I installed the game. It worked after that.

I appreciate the reply, but I do not have the CD as I purchased the game via online. If I disable the internet connection, I will not be able to re-install. Is there another way for me to go about re-installation?

Try disabling everything but your network connections so you've still got Internet access.
