How to do "Drop Step" in NBA Live 07?

Base on what I read, it said "it is executed by tapping the right analog stick up when backing down a defender. " Well, base on my undestanding, backing down a defender would be "pull down" the right analog, then how to "tape up" the right analog while "pull down" the right analog? I tried so many times but cannot find a way to make drop step works, so help! Mine is PC with joystick! Thanks!

You've got to let your player go into the automatic backdown/protect animation (which they should do when a defender is playing tight defense in the post) then tap up on the right stick.
