NLSC Current Roster Update v2.0 Released...

Postby Andrew on Fri Oct 17, 2008 11:03 am

I've finished converting the NBA Live 08 roster update for use with NBA Live 07. As such, v2.0 of the NBA Live 07 Current Roster Update is now available to download here.

Key features of v2.0:
- 2008/2009 Season Rosters accurate as of October 14th, 2008
- Player ratings updated for more realistic performance
- Primacy ratings updated for better shot distribution
- Player positions and data updated/corrected
- Cyberfaces and portraits for missing players
- East/West All-Stars Updated for All-Star Weekend 2008
- Rookie/Sophomore teams Updated for All-Star Weekend 2008
- Player Accessories Updated
- Contract & Salary Info Updated
- Seattle Supersonics changed to Oklahoma City Thunder
- Logos, courts and jerseys updated for the 2008/2009 season
- Fixed Installation Routine

Check out the release notes in the official support thread. With the 07 conversion complete, I'll now be working on a conversion for NBA Live 06. After that, I might look at doing a conversion for NBA Live 2005 as well.

Not at all, I know a lot of people have been waiting for an 07 update and you were certainly always polite about it. :)

I thought I'd added their jersey, if not I'll note that for the next update. I did add the Nets red alternate this time around though.

1st off, id like to say thanks. you do a hell of a job with these patches.

I do have a few questions, though. If I saw correctly, the patch is missing some players that either went overseas or retired (Chris Webber, Josh Childress, Sarunas Jasikevicius etc... Just to name a few.) And then I also noticed that other retired players or guys that went overseas are in the patch (Earl Boykins, Nenad Krstic, Bosthjan Nachbar etc...Just to name a few.)

So my question is, what goes into your decision making on which players to keep in the patch that are retired/overseas?

I run a sim league and the guys that are missing are still under contract in my league, its really the only reason I ask.

Thanks in advance.

Great job andrew, as always. I am hoping that you can release the 2006 version anytime from now.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Now after checking.. ALL the new players are missing Cyberfaces and Portraits. Also, I don't see the new jerseys or anything either. Could you help me with this, please ?

EDIT: I can't play either.

Oversight, basically. I'll be moving a few more players to team 32 in the next version. If you'd like to use them they're still in the rosters though; just open up players.dbf, locate the player (such as Chris Webber) and change their TEAM value to 50. They'll then appear in the Free Agents.

Impossible, all required art files are included and the installation routine is set to detect the installation folder for NBA Live 07. On the offchance that the art has been misplaced, run a Windows search for derose_.fsh to see where the files have gone.

When can you release the 2006 version? In the 2006 version the art files will also be updated especially thunder's logos and jerseys?

Did so, and found them from Program Files. Then I copied the sgsm to the NBA Live 07 folder, and the art and everything works fine, but ..

1 on 1 works fine, but I can't play in Play now. I also tried Playoffs, simulated first three quarters and then intervened, but still the same - The game closes and the " Send error report / Don't sent " thing comes up.

EDIT: Now I tried All-star game as well, crashed. Then I tried one of my old dynasties, 97-98 76ers, played against New Orleans Hornets, crashed once again.

It must be something with the sgsm, I think. I can play 1 on 1 and I can do individual practice, even with someone from OKCT, ex. Russel Westbrook.

Help'd be appreciated, as always.

Alright, I got my problem fixed. It wasn't because of those rosters, but the crowd patch I tried. Forgot to change it. Anyways, the roster update is absolutely terrific. Thanks a lot, Andrew.

I can release it when it's finished. ;) It takes a bit more work to convert from 08 or 07 to 06 than it does from 08 to 07. I've been a bit busy with other things this weekend but I expect I'll have it done fairly soon. I'm still deciding how I'll manage the art with the release, I'll have to collaborate with the other people who are contributing to the NBA Live PC project so it may be that I release another roster-only beta and then work on compiling the whole package.

Glad you got your problems worked out Oskar, though I'm still not sure why it didn't detect the appropriate folder. I made sure to test the updated installation routine before I released the update and it found a custom installation folder without any trouble.

No idea either, but as long as nobody else is having that problem, it's all good.
