Hey there,
I´m having the wierdest problem with a couple of rookies that I can´t seem to solve. here´s the deal: I create the rookies and get their cyberfaces/portraits to work but no matter what I do I can´t make their body colour match the one for their cyberface.
a couple of screenshoots to illustrate it:
Can anyone shed any light on it? I have already made around 30 rookies and the only ones I´m having problems with are these two and roko ukic and the new phoenix guard (who have black bodies matching their white cyberfaces)
thanks in advance,
Ricardo

It's the only problem or maybe for example someone has different height/weight than assigned in the file etc?

Change their "RACE" in the faces.dbf from 0 to 1.

@spree: their height and weight are ok, the only problem is their skin colour. the funny thing is there are rookies both before and after them with no problem whatsoever.
@pdub: in the appearance file those players have a face id value of -1, so I calculated which there values used to be (based on the player that has no cyberface) and changed their race but it made no difference. Should I reassign their face ids to a number like 313 or whatever? Gonna try that now
thnx for the suggestions

I'd doublecheck to make sure you've changed their ISCREATED attribute to False.

He did for sure because the custom cyberfaces are showing up.

Here's an easy way to fix it. Change ISCREATED to TRUE. Load the roster in-game and edit their players' appearances so the body color is correct. Then save the roster, ALT+TAB out and change their ISCREATED back to FALSE.

other them me being really stupid and dbf editing one roster and loading a different one in-game, what would be the reason for my changes no to take effect?
I tried to do what Pdub suggested (reverting ISCREATED to True and FACEID to their initial values - 313, 310) but nothing happened in game. I then tried to randomly change jj hickson name just to see if my changes were taking place but they are not. Do you have any idea of why this might be?
btw: spree and andrew, they were indeed set to False

Have you changed the PLAYERID or APPEARID values at all?
Thu Sep 04, 2008 1:18 pm
Only if I did it by mistake. (by which I mean I don´t know but hope I did not) I´ve read somewhere here in the forums that if you mess with those numbers they screw the order in which the games reads them, isn´t that so?
There are, however extra APPEARID entries in the appearance file that don´t have a match in the players.dbf file. Is this unusual in any way?
Anyway, thanks for the help, Its way too late in Brazil so I have to sleep now. I´ll continue to tinker with it and try to find a solution. I really don´t feel like starting this from scratch just because of 2 players
