i just experience this today after playing Live 07 for amny months. during my 2nd yr dynasty with sixers i played againts bobcats(home). Whenever i bring up the menus(pressing esc) the game always crash to desktop without any notification of errors.
i tried isolating the problem by playing in play now mode using sixers vs any teams and bobcats vs. any teams. by i didnt experience any problems. but when i tried playing sixers vs. bobcats in play mode i crash to desktop again after pressing esc. im confuse, i cant determine what is the problem. The last time that crashing occur to me is when i had a problem with xxxcrt.ebo. but in this case when i play with bobcats(home) vs. any teams i didnt get any crash. only in sixers vs. bobcats
anybody could help me on this?

My guess is that a patch that you downloaded may be causing it.
This is what I would do to try and isolate the problem Rename or move any graphics patch that you downloaded belonging to the sixers or the bobcats. Then play that game again. If it still crashes, you can safely put your patches back. Then try a different roster and play again, although if you can get into the game it probably isn't the roster. If none of this works, backup your rosters and patches, then reinstall, apply the official patch, and play the same game again with everything at default and see if it crashes. If it crashes still after all that, I would contact EA.

Thanks, im gonna try what you suggest. its just that i cant remember if i play bobcats vs. sixers before. so i didnt know if i had that problem from the start. so there is no possibility that its a dbf corruption? coz before i play the game earlier i edited the teamgear.dbf then transfer my players.dbf and appereance.dbf from my dynasty to a roster save and made some changes to some of the generated rookies accesories. Then i transfer it back to my dynasty.
But what i cant understand is it only crash with bobcats(home) vs sixers(away) while against other teams its fine..

Hey mnem, did you solve this problem? I've been having the same problem recently. At first, it used to happen with Detroit, only, but I only found out about 2 days ago that there are several teams it happens to. I'm in my 3rd season in dynasty mode, and prior to this, it hasn't happened before. I'd be really glad to find out your solution, if there is.

well sadly, i still cant figure it out. i still having that crash against bobcats and now with boston when im playing in their home court. (im @ 3yr of my dynasty now)
although i fixed the crashing on detriot, houston, miami and the east vs west in all star. i fixed the prob with detriot and houston by deleteing the courts that i added in sgsm then downloading lagoa's.
on the all-star and miami i fixed it by deleting all the patches that i downloaded(after making a backup of course) then adding it group by group(.big, .ebo then adding the fsh alphabetically). i found out that some cf are making those crashes(duncan, shaq etc.) and some of looser's court.
to tell you the truth, i kinda give up fixing those crash. i just simmed the game whenever i play on bobcats and boston.
what really baffled me is i didnt have a crash during my 1st year playing dynasty. i dunno if its bcoz that i edited some rookies.

I wonder how many patches you are using. There is a memory limit, but it is computer dependent. I remember in 06, if someone had two patches installed, which were a shoes patch, along with the tnt mod, that they would get crashes. But, if they used one or the other, they wouldn't get crashes. The same thing with courts, especially if they are using higher resolution graphics than the game comes with. Some people would get crashes, but some people wouldn't. I think it all came down to how much system memory you had. Maybe increasing the Windows virtual memory could be a solution, but it is only a guess.

well maybe you are right. coz i only have 768mb ram and my rig is outdated.
(im still wating on what will happen to vista before i decide to upgrade.)
my rig is:
amd 1.6ghz (overclock to 2.0)
gforce fx 5200 (agp)(overclocked)
120gig hd
ram 768mb
my virtual mem is 1.5min - 3x max of my ram
lately im converting those 3x-4x cf back to 512x512 before putting it in my game. and maybe ill try to create a seperate log in account on my xp just for playing live.
edit:
yeah, i have tons of patches intalled. i think my sgsm is 2gig atm.

I think I've discovered the problem. The last team to crash in my dynasty was buls, so I decided to remove looser's court patch for chicago from my sgsm, and the crash didn't occur. When I put them back, it did occur. I guess I'll have to do the same for all the courts that do crash in my dynasty. Hope this works for you.
[Edit] The cavs game was crashing too, so I decided to take out each court file of the cavs until I found the one that was causing the game to crash. By so doing, I succeeded in narrowing it down to clevcrt.fsh. The million dollar question is, why hadn't this been causing the game crash before? Maybe it's conflicting with a recently installed patch. If only I could remember which patches I recently installed.
mnem, perhaps we could compare which patches we have installed in the game?

ok, i finally pinpoint whats causing the crash. the fsh that has a resolution thats greater 1024 makes my game crash. all i did was lower the resolution to 1024 or lower then put it back to sgsm did the trick.
heres an example:
as you can see the
tlga has a resolution of 2048x2048. i just lower the resolution down to 1024x1024 then saved it.
you must make sure the the new fsh must be smaller than the original. (ie. from 2.2mb to 768kb)
-------------------------------------------------
steps in order to know if the fsh has a high resolution:
goto your sgsm.
right click on it highlight "
arrange icons by" then select "
size". Also make sure that the "
show in groups" are checked.
now check all the fsh files thats greater than 1mb(using fshx) if it has a resolution greater than 1024.
hope this help those who experience the same problem as mine.

does the changed fsh hafta be less than 1MB?
Sun Apr 01, 2007 5:43 pm
not entirely as long as theres a size change. Although from my experience the biggest filze i came up with after editing is 0.99mb
Also, here's what i notice, sometimes overwriting the old file doesnt change its filesize. You need to "save as" your edited file to a temp folder then copy it back to your sgsm afterwards.

well. does that include Cf's and stuff? cuz i did it with all the courts and its still crashing.

maybe you have a different problem
