Starters introductions.. is it possible to set it?

Postby NBA Live 2006 on Thu Nov 09, 2006 10:52 am

is it possible to have starters introduced everytime? in my game ive had it happen only twice, usually its shootaround and then game starts, but twice i had starters introduced and lights were off in the arena. and also few times i had it go straight to tip off without any intros. so im asking if its possible to set it only to starters intro always

I'd like to know this also

Last year it did it almost all the time.

Is it a setting in the team file or somewhere else

Thanks for any help in this matter

I asked the same question last year..

If I remember right, last year the teams which had starting-five intro instead of FSS intro were the teams which in the original release had no FSS in their team - like the Blazers, who in fact have the thing this year.

Try to find out what make the Blazers different from other teams in the game's files.

well i found out, and u were right.. hovewer if your team doesnt have a FSS, its either starting 5 intro, or skips straight to tip off and audio goes mute for some perisods of time, only commentary, no arena noise. i had that happen for pacers and raptors, when i checked neither had ORIGINALSUPERSTART field set on Yes, so i made JO and Bosh True for that field and now i get it to go to shootatound and it works normal, doesnt go mute

My Blazers don't do the intro...I wonder if because i've changed the starting five..I know that last year i cahnged the starters and it didn't matter..

I'm sorry but what do you mean by FSS intro

What file did u edit was it the players file
So if i change one of the starters for a team to yes in that field, i'll get the player intro's?

do u have to have more than one player with this yes rating?

also where is the field originalstart field i can't find it
are u using the PC version?

Thanks for your help

ok my friend, in players.dbf there is a fiel towards the end, its called ISORIGSS. If yout team has any player who has that field marked True, it goes to shootaround and shows you that player, the star of the team. Most teams had one by default, but i found pacers and raptors didnt have one, so i set it myself. If you want you can put on Blazers Jarret Jack for example True on that field, and it will show you him during shootaround

Oh thank you I've done that and it shows the player i have as one original superstar.

I was wondering how to make the teams being announced , coming out one a time .

My game has only done that once,, last year it did it all the time.

The lights go down and then they announce the players..

That part was pretty cool

So if i don't have a player who is original super star then it announces the players?

Also will the player perform as the superstar if he's not a yes in that field?

What i did was made a player a superstar like Larry Bird and it's pretty cool as he does these moves like bird. I changed his numbers to be likes birds numbers in superstar fileds..

If i so no in that field does he still do those moves?

Ok By Removing True from this player I get player intros

Do you know if that player will still do the superstar moves of the player whose superstar number you assigned him..AKA BIRD

Thank You for your help I know why my player intro's went away..

I noticed Telfair has yes in his colum that explains why Boston won't do it..

I didn't know that Telfair was an Original Superstar already in his young history in the NBA.....

I don't think this is an EA screwup... I think it's just the way it's set up, to sometimes just show a little warm-up layup animations, and sometimes starting lineups. There's only so much we can blame on EA for 'screwing up' people.

no its not that.. what i mmeant when i said they screwed up is if your team doesnt have original superstar it goes to either starting lineups (which we like) or straight to tip off and sound goes missing then (which we dont like).. ive oly found a couple of ppl on here with similar problems

NBA Live 2006, lets say I want to see the starting lineup intro for every team, do I need to put FALSE in the ISORIGSS field for all the player and that's it?

Also, like Doors11 already asked, will a FSS with FALSE in his ISORIGSS field can still function in the game as a FSS? (will he lose his powers? )

ive noticed in exhibition games they just show pictures while the shoot layups and stuff. If you play a game in the playoffs its always the starting lineup scene.
