My shortest dynasty ever...

Postby MacBryce on Thu Oct 05, 2006 6:05 pm

Regardless of the bugs I decided to start a dynasty since that's what I like to do in a basketball sim. I picked the bucks and decided to play a game with them to see who I like and who I'd like to get rid off.

It turned out to be a close game. Some bugs encountered but I managed to stay in the game. I'm 2 up in the final 30 seconds of the fourth and Ray Allen (I was playing versus Seattle) makes the three point shot, even though Redd was all over him. There are some 20 seconds left, so I should have one decent play left. I decide not to call a timeout because I've had some bugs with inbound plays already this game and they've all caused me points. I let Mo dribble up court and find Simmons. I decide to go for the drive since Redd has taken up the middle and I can always dish out to him for an open three if Lewis gets help defense from Allen.

As Simmons gets to the paint the guy guarding Villanueva in the post near the free throw line helps Lewis and I'm forced to back up. Strangely enough, I get double teamed and Charlie is standing wide open on the free throw line without a defender in sight. I pass him the rock and there are 3 seconds left. Enough for an easy dunk and the win when hell freezes over...

I manage to press the dunk button slightly to fast in my excitement and there you have it. Wide open Villaneuva does the "You've pressed dunk too early" move which looks like he's having a seizure while attempting a dunk. I lose the game and decide that I'm not ready for a dynasty yet and I add "don't do nothing when pressing dunk and out of range to my 08 wishlist". For once I manage to look past the bugs and then I screw up myself. How ironic.

I feel you, I've had the same problem.

In addition, I've lost my first dynasty game in OT against Orlando, after D. Howard forced it to OT with a 3 pointer with 2 defenders on him.

That's how fast I realized playing Live this year is a total waste of time...

I think pressing dunk outside of range should have you trying to do a dunk and then laying it up when the player realizes that hes too far out.

Hey, in practice, I try to dunk from the dotted line... and its barely too far out for me, so I usually have to lay it up or get hung.

It's amazing that the site admins have such sarcastic comments when people complain about bugs in the game. Even when people complain about bugs that existed last year and were not addressed, even when they complain about bugs like PG domination and subs that prove the dev team had no care for the finished product, the admins criticize the complaining.

I appreciate this site and the forums. But maybe the admins could spend more time on community day finding problems that were obvious within five minutes of play, and less time criticizing and being sarcastic towards the consumers who shelled out dollars to purchase this incomplete game.

ignatu, its not a case of not relating and antagonizing users its that posts like

"WTF????? DA FCKIN CPU DUZNT SUBS? WTF???"
1. If they had read for 5 minutes they would have their explanation its a bug
2. If they wanted to find possible solutions (unofficial patch, although not advised) it is present
3. They clutter up the board. Let's say you started a thread and you see some new post is in that forum. When you go look, wouldnt it piss you off if that was all it was...8 posts by the same guy asking about the subs in different spots?

I'm not trying to start anything with you, i'm just pointing out the mods have rights just as we do as users and i have yet to see them do something terribly unwarranted...

I did not make any sarcastic comment. He posted it in the wrong section and I decided where to move it. Who in this thread was criticizing and being sarcastic towards consumers? I was the first one to contact EA and get a response about their shitty product, artard.
