NBA Live 07 Community Day Recap & Report

Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

THERE IS SOMETHING FISHY GOIN ON!

Damn conspiracy.
Here's the truth: EA hired no game testers. The Community Day was just a cover up so the participants were the actual testers. When Andrew and the others found no bugs, the developers thought to themselves "Hey, the "testers" found nothing wrong! Good work guys!" *pats on the back*

we invited some of the top community leaders from as far away as Australia

Andrew is really special to the EA people.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive about the game and the entire group is excited about its release this September.

How about now EA? How about now?

Just saw Andrew's side view, and his nose is huge. :o

Not to be insulting but that guy with the glasses and moptop-like hair looks a bit too geeky.

Tow things I don't understand about the Community Day recaps done by a group of people who are fans and community leaders.

How do they write "current gen" (bizarro speak for more powerful system with newer components) version has "fewer signature shots" when in fact it has none? Did "fewer" mean "none?" Did the folks at this community day see signature shots in the current gen version, or did someone from EA tell them there were signature shots in current gen, when in fact there are none?

It's understood that there wasn't much hands on time, but the sub bug makes itself apparant within about five minutes of play. Nobody noticed that the computer wasn't making subs?

How do all those community people see the game and not mention one of these things that were apparant to anyone who bought the game within the first minutes of play?

If the bugs were seen but EA explained it was an early version and many things would be fixed, did they intend to fix things and run out of time, or did they know none of this would be addressed?

I've already explained that in an earlier post. There wasn't nearly enough time to play close to a full game, there were three different platforms to review and I tried to cover as much as possible. If I had noticed those problems at the Community Day I definitely would have mentioned them, both to the producers present and in my report after I returned.

i haven't bothered to read this thread post-release, so this may have been answered:

were you led to assume in any way that there would be sig shots in current gen? you stated there would be several times, so there seemed to be proof behnd it. or did you reach this conclusion yourself? i'm not going to flame you or hold you accountable if it was you rather than EA, just wondering.

Since I didn't get to play with every team or player I didn't see for myself one way or the other but I was under the impression a few were in the game. It's possible I misheard or misunderstood what was said but I could have sworn I heard there'd be some signature shots in Current Gen in addition to the free throw animations.

These are community leaders? Guys who missed bugs that were obvious after five minutes of play?

As I've said before, I'm as disappointed as everyone else with how the game has turned out. I have already explained the circumstances that I believe contributed to the fact that no one noticed these issues. I certainly wish I had noticed them at the time but the limited amount of hands-on time didn't really allow for it since I wanted to get as much information on as many aspects of the game as possible. 45 minutes wasn't enough time to look into as many game modes as possible and play a game that's more than 3-5 minute quarters.

Also, it's a little hard to notice PC specific bugs like the Quit Game crash and issues with stats saving since that version of the game was not on display at the event.
