Playing a created player at all times??

Hey all, was wondering in NBA 07 how the hell you mark it that your created player is the only superstar you play, when was younger me and my brother used to play 97 and always had a way where you can mark your created player and play them at all times rather then jump from every basketball star.. can anyone help?
