Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

Yah, I wish pc had a big sports market, than we would see 2k series on pc along with ncaa football baseball and basketball.
Wed Sep 27, 2006 8:16 pm
Oh well.. I hate to get into consoles vs PC. I just want both options. No dirty play. Give everyone the features.
Wed Sep 27, 2006 8:20 pm
I dont have a console, sucks that i cant play ncaa football.

There wqas a pretty good NCAA homebrew patch for Madden 05 that converted it to NCAA, or was it madden 04. I dont remember. I wonder what EA changed to keep these guys from modding later titles. or maybe I just missed it. I actually liked it a lot better than the PS2 NCAA at the time. It was pretty good.
I guess this group of modders figgured since they spent the time to convert the huge rosters, may aswell just make a sweet hack.

I got one for madden 07 but its not the same without all the teams/stadiums rankings, fightsongs, ect. Hard to have a legit dynasty with only 32 teams!

Well, i'll only say one thing:
It's obvious that the 360 or the PS3 are better than a PC... why? Because, you know? Weta Workshop or Industrial Light and Magic use consoles to generate FX.... Come on!! Don't make me laugh!!
Those consoles are as powerful as you may hope, but THEY ARE USELESS if you want to do another thing different than gaming!!

It'll be DirectX10, and some video cards will start exploiting it as soon as this Fall apparently, even though Vista won't be released before January...

Here's a solution. Both next-gen and current-gen versions can be made and their system requirements can be stated and you can buy the one suitable for your system. Am I wrong?

Well, DirectX10 and XNA will apparently make it extremely easy to port games from the X360 to PC. And it's already pretty easy to do that as evidenced by all the X360/PC release recently.
It's just up to EA to do it.

In a perfect world, sure. But EA barely even makes one PC version, nevermind two. Unfortunately it's outside the realm of realism.

I dont think theres any doubt that current pcs could visualize the next gen looks, but besides why doesnt ea include the other features like footplanting, signature shots, modern menue etc.? I mean u cant tell me that the pc cant handle those features

Andrew posted: "The disadvantage of course is that it's more time consuming (hence the lack of the aforementioned features) and opens up the possibility of creating new problems that might have already been ironed out in Current Gen. "
And then he went on to post how a stable platform, like current gen, would tend to be more stable.
Two points:
There's far more power to be taken advantage of with the newer hardware found in PCs.
This year there is no argument that current gen "already had problems ironed out" or was "more stable."

Am i the only one that is getting really sick of the term "next gen"??? the XBOX 360 has been out for a while. It's not next gen anymore. It's current gen. PS2, XBOX, and GameCube are "old gen".
It's laziness on EA's development as to why there is no "next gen" for PC.
Call of Duty 2 and Oblivion are the exact same game on both PC and XBOX 360. So i don't want to hear any more BS about PC's not being able to handle "next gen".

Well, I did write that before NBA Live 07 CG was released so I was not aware of the bugs that are now well-known.

Well, "next gen" doesn't just deal with graphics. The 360 also has a physics processor, which is why Live 07 has no skating in that version. And yes, they probably could transfer that to PC, but to run it correctly, you would need either a dual video card set up which for even the midrange wil set you back about 800 bucks. or add a physics processor to your setup which will cost about 250 bucks and you would have to have a PCI Express slot. The reason Live has so many issues is that they have not rewritten the core of the engine since 03. It was like before Microsoft dumped all those old DOS extentions and fixes that ran in the background of WIN 98. Instead of fixing the bugs they do "workarounds" which just candy coats the problem. The physics will never be up to par until they either rewrite the code or give us the "next gen" version and force most users to upgrade. Me personally, I am in the computer business, so upgrading for me is no problem, but to the average consumer that might be. If you want to be a real gamer then I guess you have to pay the price.

I'll copy this from the low requirements thread:
Crock wrote:Cause If you asking for lousy 'requirements' ,more PC's can run it = more peoples will buy it = money.
Not all the PC's have the power to run a game like that, but i still don't know why they don't have the balls to release a powerful game, every new game is released now is always buzzing by "how the fuck im gonna run this shit?".
EA Sports don't want to lose money, they know that the more PC can run it, the more money come in.

No, it doesn't.
or add a physics processor to your setup which will cost about 250 bucks
And do absolutely nothing to your games.
and you would have to have a PCI Express slot.
Does any recently purchased computer NOT come with these?

Nobody smart is going to upgrade for Live, that's why people still play Live 2000. That's why EA should should figure out XNA and port the damn X360 version.

A computer is more powerfull than a console. I have a 360 and a high end computer, and the fps run smoother in my computer. But the thing is what I do like is sports game, and in that category the 360 blow away the pc. nhl 2k7, nhl 2007, nfl or nba the xbox 360 version is far better,so bottom line if you like sports game you will be better with a console.
