Thanks again to Tim for taking the time to give us some more insight into the Next Gen version of this year's game.

Sounds promising. Definitely a massive improvement to last year's next gen rubbish.

We can't wait to build NBA LIVE 08 on top of the foundation that we have created for this year.

we do not have defensive superstars this year. We decided that we want to take a different approach to defense next year, so implementing it in this year didn't make sense for us

two very telling quotes and reasons why i am probobly going to wait to buy my next gen system till next year......

Glad to hear that Marbury has his own shot tho!!!! I hope he does in Current Gen too!!!

well in 06 nextgen they canned the scripted block animations in favor for the 2k type of blocking. I dont really see the need for defensive superstars, I just dont really understand why McGrady can take a charge any better than Delonte West. I understand about the stealing part of it, but why cant we just go back to the little icons like in 2003-2005?
Opinions are my own.

The animation isnt um, 'forced' . In 2k6, the player would jump up with a hand in the air and if he's near the ball, he'll block it, but his arm won't swing out of nowhere.

I cant explain it...

one of the perks of having an either outside or inside stopper is by pressing the FSS trigger and the charge button. by doing that you are more likely to draw a charge.

from http://sports.ign.com/articles/645/645549p1.html
Hold the left trigger and tap B: Take Charge
Step in front of your man and draw the foul. Stand in the wrong area, however, and watch the dribbler pass right on by for an easy bucket.

as for the blocking, in 2005 and 06 current gen, big men can swat layups off the backboards with ease....its a canned animation, there is nothing the offensive player can do to change his situation.

see second mark :26 and :42 in this video http://media.putfile.com/V1-of-the-new-INtro-Movie

hope that explains it to you a little better

Now the nextgen blocking in 06 and all of the 2k games goes like the jumpshot blocking in currentgen. The offensive player can utilize "Freestyle Air" (thats what EA calls it) by pressing the dunk/layup button again to readjust your shot to avoid the block. This type of blocking is more realistic but with current gen games the players hand doesnt do a good job "finding" the ball

see times 1:24, ,1:37 two in a row, and 2:58 http://media.putfile.com/Celtics-Street-Dynasty-Month-1

or times 1:09, 2:40, 3:53, 4:03 in this video

Opinions are my own.

is the version of nba live 07 for the "xbox 360" really so bad??
i mean, take a look at the reviews of ign, gamespot, up1, etc. (from 5.0 to 6.0)

i´ve already have live 07 for pc (current-gen) and it´s very ugly, i hope the next-gen version is better.

any comments please.
