A REAL SOLUTION to NBA Live 07 problems!

NBA Live 07 Review (PC)
Rating: 5.5 / 10 (was 8.0 / 10)
The Good: Better graphics, animations; announcers are great. Crowd gets into the game. (8/10)
The Bad: CPU PG dominance, no substitutions by CPU, too many outside shots by CPU, to many isolation plays by CPU, bad shot selection at times by CPU, basically plays more arcade than simulation. (2/10)
The Ugly: As stated above, the Artificial Intelligence is poor! This game, now is unplayable by me till something miraculous happens and a patch is applied. Sorry, this games AI plays WORSE than NBA Live 06. I love NBA basketball: this game does not respresent NBA basketball as far as gameplay.
(1/10)
I now feel if I really want to play a good basketball video game I will have to go out and buy a console to play NBA 2k7 which is recieving rave reviews.

Guys, like I said in an ealier post, I've played every version of NBA Live since Live 95. I took my own advice this weekend, purchased an XBox 360 and played NBA 2k7. Here is my review of this outstanding product -
The Good:
1. Graphics (10/10) Seriously, it looks like you are watching a game on TV. Every detail is captured. Simply amazing!
2. Sound (9/10) Not quite as good as NBA Live 07, but really good. I like the sideline reporter and Kenny Johnson's half time report comentary. Nothing, however, will be as good as Marv Albert and Steve Kerr doing color commentary.
3. Gameplay (10/10) Unreal! Again, it plays exactly like a game on TV or watching an NBA game in person. The signature shots (almost every player has one) is great! Most players have signature expressions, dribbling styles, and communicate with refs, the scoring table - they check in for substituions, the bench players react very realistic. You must run plays to get high percentage shots. The game plays at a pace identical to real NBA.
4. AI (10/10) CPU teams run actual offense of real teams. CPU uses bench wisely and realistically. The CPU runs offensive plays like what its team runs. Game statistics are right on.
5. Misc: (check out these features!) (11/10)
a. Rasheed Wallace reactions to fouls is authentic (he gets pissed). He will argue with Refs while waiting for the CPU to shoot free throws
b. Team mascots-in the game, chearleaders, the people in the stands looks realistic-- fans getting up to go the consecion stands, standing up and roaring a game changing play or at the end of a tight game. Some seats in the stands are empty at some stadiums where a team isn't very good.
c. On the fly player substituions.. i can make subs which on offense or shooting free throws.. doesn't pause the game
d. Tip rebounds-- players tip rebounds to themselves, realistic 3-point plays, momentum
e. Player ratings are right on. I think EA was smoking crack when they inputed player ratings
f. Replays! Plus, during timouts you feel like you are still sitting in the stands--making subs without another team management screen.
g. The computer AI plays like the real thing.. I just can't believe how realistic the CPU plays. and, no bugs!

The Bad: not available on the PC. I think we need to change software sponsers and get 2K Sports to port this game to PC

The Ugly:
I will not touch NBA Live 07 (PC) ever again (patch or no patch). NBA 2k7 is 5 years ahead of Live. I'm very serious about this guys. This game is incredible! This is the game we have been looking for on our wishlists for years. Take a look at it. The AI, gameplay, and authenticity (pure simulation of NBA basketball) makes me a strong supporter of 2K Sports.

This is not a solution at all. It is, however, both very misleading and in the wrong forum. (N)

All that said you forgot to comment on 2K's bland presentation style, and inability to capture the heat of the moment theatrics which are present in real NBA games...

2k7 is better than Live 07 but with some more time with the game you'll become aware with some of the flaws that have plagued the 2k series, just as you've become aware of the flaws that are present in the Live series... Just wait and you'll see what I mean
