i noticed on ign that the players have about 50 different ratings. some of them are just stupid.

max speed
lateral quickness and Recovery Quickness (i dont even know what that is)
Ballcarrier Speed (this isnt football)
Dunk/Layup Shot Off
Hands Inp Post
Offensive and Defense Sink Or Swim Effectiveness
Post Savvy
Shooting Touch
Hands On Perimeter
Shooter's Mentality
Foul Mistakes
Tenacity
Helpside Effectiveness
Closeout Effectiveness
Hedging The Screen
Fighting Through The Screen
Mental Toughness
Using Screens
Fastbreak Anticipation

these arent even ratings anymore.

Is this a ratings gripe thread or a thread about your lack of knowledge of basketball?

If actually used properly, those are excellent ratings. If you don't know what something means, it doesn't mean it's stupid, it's just that you're ignorant.

Why would they be in the game then? Please use a shred of common sense.

You're clearly confused. The bugs being mentioned are for current gen, while those ratings you're listing are for next gen... and who said 'they aren't needed'? Again, let's use some common sense here; not sure if that's asking a lot or not.

the rating groups are not the problem... it is the actual ratings

for example: Allen Iverson has a 99 teamwork?? what kind of rating is that
