Faulty DVD?

Postby Shame94 on Sat Sep 30, 2006 3:15 am

So here I was excited to get my NBA Live 07 a few days ago and come to find out my happiness was short lived. First off I had trouble just installing the game even though my PC has over 1mb of Ram, a GeForce6800 graphics card, and more than 20 gigs of hard drive space left. Once the game installed everything seemed to work properly. HOWEVER, now when I put the DVD-ROM in the drive, the Menu screen no longer loads up. I look at the back of the disk and see what looks like to be more than a few scratches. Considering the fact I just got the game I know I didn't cause those. Plus I NEVER had a problem running Live 06, and now Live 07 won't even load up for me. I hope this is just a faulty DVD and not part of a larger trend of malfunctions, because if so, this will be the last Live I ever buy.

Your reader might be going on you. A lightly scratched disk should still be able to install and load.

I'd still exchange it, if I were you.

There are solutions around the DVD problem

If you care, a solution can be found on the web that would not require you to pop the DVD in there all the time. I use it because it's a pain in the ass to keep swapping game DVD's when I play different games. I know it's copy protection, but it pisses your own consumers off.
