Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

Lest you think I only complain, here are some good things I've found with the game.
Superstars, at least those on the human team, those with the high primacy, look to score and put up a lot of shots. In 06, it was hard to get a computer player to score, for someone who plays locked that's bad. If I play the PG and Kobe is on my team, I want to dish the ball and have him score.
In 07, I tested this right away by getting Kobe on the Bulls. The guy looks for his shots, and he takes them, he drives when I pass him the ball, fast breaks, dunks, jump shots, etc. He's even made a number of spectacular touch passes to people in the lane on my pass to him.
Of course the problem is when he gets tired and the computer hasn't subbed for him, he misses a lot of shots. I don't want to sub while the computer team still isn't subbing.
Some of the music is very good, a nice break from the thug rap there's been previously. Some of the more jazzy tunes are very nice, especially for older folken like me.
The aggressive, scoring superstars is good. Playing against Miami, except for the problem with the PG scoring too often, I can see they go to Wade and Shaq a lot, and those guys score. So if the subs get fixed, and secondarily if the short season can be added, with the superstars playing like superstars this will be fun.

Glad to hear something positive. I don't think I've heard so many negatives in previous years. Anyway, I really think this game could be really, really good, better than any of the previous Lives <if> they do fix the bugs. It seems like the lack of substitutions is the biggest bug to date. It's just incredible, unbelievable how they let that one slip away.

If they fix at least the subs problem, i will buy it. the improved gameplay and FSS/X factor fixes are enough for me

I like this game too,
for gameplay it is argubaly one of the best game I have ever played in Live series.
If they fix those bugs I think they can take some customers back from 2k.

If they fix all those problems that have been talked about anyone would be a fool to stick with 05 or 06.

R U Talking about the Ps2 version??

the game is great except they forgot the fatigue and subbing sliders...im yet to see this PG domination that everyone keeps talkin about, ive played like 15 games now and still havent witnessed one bit of a PG domination...anyway looks like im gonna have to manually sub for both myself and CPU shit

i know some people want to point out the good things about live, but its hard to look at those when the game is unplayable. The sub problem is the main thing, and its hard to look past that. very hard.

I have noticed in a few games the pg's take alot of shots and miss alot too, but for the most part mostly like kobe and star players take alot of shots and score alot as well so for me it evens out, like wade on the heat had 32 pts in one game and j will had 14 but did shoot quite abit though. Also the sub thing seems to be the biggest prob and really is not that big of deal , just time consuming a bit but does kinda give a coach feel to it by being able to choose who to sub in and out, so not that big of a problem but mor of a inconvienience.

Once you realize that there is nothing yo u can do about the sub problem and just try and play the game you realize that it's pretty damn fun. But the substitution problem definately has to be fixed for me to start my dynasty.

Yeah i feel the same way it would really suck to have to sub manually through 82 games. Hopefully if people mellow out a bit and not curse them so much they might patch this version unlike last years, i seen so much complaining about the game, and no patch at all cuz frankly they don't have to patch it its more of a convienience to us that they do so if people will stop saying they suck so much maybe just maybe they might give us a patch for this game.

The traffic towards the basket is also a major plus, I was playing the PC version of Live for a bit today and I was really impressed with the fact that you actually have to think on defense now!
I was playing against the Wizards and I was also surprised that Arenas - the point guard - DID NOT take all of the shots now I only bring this up because people were complaining about the PG taking too many shots in other posts... I guess it depends on how you play defense and whether or not you leave the other team's team strategy on "Shooter A" all the time (then again I think shooter a is a team strategy designed for your shooting guard so that part might be irrelevant

)

I moved team strategy to shooter b and for the sonics lewis had 27 pts and ray allen had 32 and ridnour had only 8 and 4 out of 8 shooting course i guess it might depend on team specifics

I've noticed a lot (realistic amount) of trading going on between CPU teams. I'm really satisfied on on that part of the game.
Marcus Williams for Alonzo Mourning
Ronnie Brewer for Ike Diogu
Andre Emmet for 1st rounder
Przybilla for Marparing
and a couple more small trades.
Fri Sep 29, 2006 4:38 pm
have you seen any ridiculous trades?
Fri Sep 29, 2006 5:06 pm
No i haven't yet, and i hope i won't. I also traded a draft pick: Jamal Crawford, Othella Harrinton and a 1st rounder for Michael Redd, Which i think it's fair(i probably got the better end of it).
More on the positive note, gameplay wise, 07 is much better than last years. People are saying how this is a carbon copy of last year's game, but i disagree. This year's game has better defece both for the player and cpu. Better 1 on 1 defense, where the defender can get closer to the dribbler and have realistic physical contact. Much better rebounding for both CPU and player. The much higher intensity, and how the player's performance is somewhat dictated by the flow of the game rather than that "cpu comback mode" thing we used to have. Free throw is much more interesting now. Better spacing.... lots of other stuff
Come to think about it, Andrew's initial impression described a lot of this. I like this game a lot.... if only they fixed the substitution problem. But i have a good feeling that it will be dealt with soon.
