Online Downloading

I was going to buy and download Silent Hunter 3 from direct2drive. But I looked around and it said something about people were having problems playing online or something with the download version. So I just ordered the box version. Im glad I did cuz in the box came a good manual and a map. The only game I bought off EA downloader was a BF2 booster pack because that is the only way you can get it. So after all my mumbo jumbo I guess its always better to just get the box version unless you have no choice.

Fourth time is a charm?!

This time, despite the EA downloader displaying a broken webpage from Pogo.com ( literally a Pogo.com specific 404 ) behind the download frame/tab deal and not able to see any status other than refreshing the cache directory and watching the file size grow, it's actually installing.

I guess it downloads eac files first, then decrypts them into an ead file and then builds the viv file which is uncompressed into what amounts to a directory with the structure of the install CD. Then it installs as per normal.

This shit is so broken and lame that I'll never pay to download another EA game ever again. Depending on the game itself, mayhaps even just write-off EA entirely ( hard thing to do for any gamer since they're just a massive steaming pile that is hard to avoid publishing-wise ).

If NBA Live isn't fixed in regard to things like the CPU not substituting, then 07 is the last Live I will purchase.

How did the no sub thing slip through any mention on all the reviews and community day articles?

Damn that sucks!! You might as well buy the CD instead of waisting all that time downloading the game
