Oh, I agree entirely that the last name pronunciation doesn't cancel out bugs like the following:
* Point guards scoring 80 points in a game ( so far Raymond Felton, T.J. Ford, Jarrett Jack ) is pretty umm.. not great.
* When you end a matchup and go to 'Quit Game' it literally exits the game *poof*.
There's an entire laundry list of very fixable 'bugs', which never should've left the studio.
It's pretty common practice in the gaming world now to produce a game and then 'finish' them with multiple patches way after release. Of course, that's if you're lucky and there are actual patches. It's a horrible practice, when it is obvious to the average gamer that the game wasn't even finished.
Honestly, I've probably spent my last dime with EA. From a development/technical progression standpoint, it's fairly obvious that the game lacks any real innovation behind it. There are so many things from just a small feature standpoint that would add polish to the game that go untouched year after year. I can't say that I think any basketball games exist on the market that meet the criteria and I think the lack of competition in that area just hurts the gamers.
Anyway, if there's a patch there's a patch... if there isn't, there isn't. I certainly won't be holding my breath, but I will enjoy the last name pronunciation -- something that left the game that shouldn't have.
