Marion: Jumpshot in Current Gen?

Postby RyoCoola on Mon Sep 25, 2006 5:38 am

Ok, I been up and down this board. I have watched like every video there is the current gen as well and at this point I'm feeling a no on the subject.

My question: Is Shawn Marion's jumpshoot in Current Gen?

Yes, I know there 15-20 jumpshots supposely in current gen. I have yet to see more than two that don't look any different then the usual superstar style shot: shooting, outside scorer, etc. In the Community Report someone asked it specifically, but it never got answered to my knowledge. I might actually have seen a trailer at EA where they show Marion shooting a regular old shot just like last years, not sure though. Someone please enlighten with specifics and not generals.

his shot isnt even a jumper.. he should basically have his own thing... cuz in the video that shows his signature "jumper" it looks weird. they should just have him standing and do a chest pass to the hoop.

IGN, Gamespot, etc. Basically, google search the game and you can find sites with a list of stuff. You can go to EA Sports as well. http://www.easports.com/nbalive07/features.jsp

I am not sure why you couldn't find this info yourself. It all over this message board and this site as well. If this question has some alternate meaning behind, just disregard those last two sentences.

Yeah, it looks weird..pretty close to real life though. I don't care as long as they have it though.

I am thinking they do not though. EA Downloader shows him doing a regular jumpshot after a pass from Nash in NBA Live 07' Trailer. Which begs me to ask the question: Why bother even saying current gen has any unique jump shots (15 or whatever) if EA couldn't bother to put the most unique jump shot in the NBA in the game? It isn't like he is a no name player throwing up weird shots either, so I am baffled and sad. :(

c.b.4 read this thread.

EDIT: The EA Downloader trailer does have Marion shooting a regular jumper, but it also has Ben Wallace playing for the Pistons, so who knows how accurate it is. My other suspicion is that it might be Diaw rather than Marion, but it looks like him at first.

The amount that people fail to read on this forum is truly astonishing.

lassen24, currently there is no way to patch animations not already included in the game into the game. Some things are slightly modifiable, but nothing to that degree. (Y)

This game's in the refrigerator: the door is closed, the lights are out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard, and the Jell-O's jigglin'!

All those features for the 360, PS2 and PC are the same. So its still prob the thing of there will be a few superstar jumpshots for current gen

I didn't explain that very well. In this list of features on that website the 360, PC and PS2 have the same list. However we know that the 360 has different features to the PC and PS2. I think there will be signature jumpshots but not to the degree of the 360.

There are some signatures jump shots... Thats ok because we could edit other players with the same kind of jump shot

OK... we know for a fact that there will be "Some" Sig Shots... so in my opinion, no matter how many or how few they decide to put in... Marions shot will be in there... He has the most unique shot so if they are putting anyones sig shot in the game he will be 1st most likely

This is a fair assumption.

I have'nt played the game yet, but i guess once its released tomorrow in the US we will all get reviews/questions with answers for all systems.
I pretty sure you will probably find the pc and ps2 versions will not have sig shots as the pc is direct port of the ps2
I think andrew played on the xbox current gen at the community day where i think he said there is sig shots.
Call me crazy but i think micrsoft has done a deal with EA to produce a better game on the xbox with the intention that if you like the xbox current gen then it will probably lead you to purchase a xbox360 to play next gen.
Even Sony hope the ps3 will win back fans but only on next gen

Us pc users the real "Live" fans are getting screwed every year.

We all should kick up a big stink about EA releasing a sub standard roster update and calling it live 07, I mean are we expected to believe in the time of one year, all they could do was update rosters, add a new score overlay and put a new button to change frestyle superstars on the fly. Have a look in this forum how much patching was done in the same time and how much better we made the game.

EAs Pc version crew must have been Sucking Canadian Mounties Nuts for 10 months of the past year, cause the obviously didnt pay too much fucking attention to the game they released.

I didn't notice any myself but I was under the impression there were a couple in there; it's starting to look like I was mistaken. :(
