how to update graphics card

Tue Sep 26, 2006 7:16 am

I'm sure this has already been tackled but I cannot seem to find it. Last game I had was 2005 and I had to install some sort of program called Catalyst so I could play the game and actually see what's going on. I have a RADEON 7500 card and I figure there has to be the appropriate software/update to make Live 07 playable on my computer. My computer should meet/exceed all the other specs required but this one is ultimately of great concern. If you could help me take the necessary steps that would be great. I'm on a IBM Thinkpad R51 (so a couple of years old) if that aids in aiding me. Thanks again to the community for a helping hand.

Catalyst is the official driver from ATI, your video card brand. Drivers are updated every two or three months usually. The problem here is that it might not be sufficent for you to play the game, you really need to check the requirements for PC cuz I'm not sure your card is supported by the game.
Sorry man, it's far from being just a detail, it's pretty much the #1 requirement to have a supported video card with today's games...

thank you el badman - now, where do I find if my card is supported for the game?

i dont' think 7500 is supported. BUT if you were able to play 2005, you might be able to get by with it. LIVE 07 doesn't require that much of graphic processing power.

For updating the video card, tt depends what slot is supported AGP or PCI-E(you might even have PCI which is really old). Find out which one your graphics card uses, and then go to a computer shop for a decent video card that supports it.

From what I've seen on the official EA forum, your card seems to meet the very minimum requirement. You should probably call an EA hotline or something to make sure though...

Hey, I own a R51 too.
I am okay to play Nba live 2006 even with medium environment.
So I think you and I will be okay for 07.

andy, have you done anything with/to your graphics card? i just reset my computer to factory settings, so any software i had is no longer on my computer.

You guys just need to make sure that your video card, RAM and processor meet the minimum requirements, that's it....
Check out the official EA sports page, you should find all of that there.
