And the quality of some of the high school players has been phenomenal in the last couple of years... A lot of them need a lot of work, but some are NBA ready... It's like taking 10 million dollars from them and make them play for nothing in college.
I do get it, but still I don't... This ruling is unfair to the young players whose careers just got shorter and the time to make the big cash just got decreased... This ruling was made so that the american college players would get more attention in the drafts. And this was done because NBA teams were getting more and more people from HS, to basically knock some sense into them... It's not like there are dozens of LeBron James' out there...
Well on the overall scheme of things... This age limit is very frustrating to the international players... Some of those guys have played on top levels of Europe since they were 15 years old... And now they have to wait and play a couple extra years before entering the NBA. And possibly will sign those horrendous contracts that basically won't allow them to go and play on the NBA level due to all the compensational cash thing that the NBA isn't too keen on...
I thought it was a bad call from the NBA head office and I still think so... Damn those "let's try our luck with a HS prospect" team owners...

And those international players would never try the college system, because:
1. the language barrier,
2. they can get those contracts you were talking about.
so, it really does limit their opportunities to enter the draft.
this year's draft is really the test case, it'll be worthwhile coming back to this in one or 2 years time, to see what sort of an impact it's had.

We will have to wait for like 3-4 years before this really starts to kick in. This year, is basically the first year when HS was left out... Thus you have to wait for the HS players to get to the NBA level to asses their success then to see if the change did do any good...
The international stage took a hit here... Big time. The league is getting more and more international day-by-day and it's now really up to the leagues and teams in the international stage to play along with this rule and not lock up their young players that could have great futures in the NBA and a chance to get their hands on the big bucks and make their country known in the states.
But if European and Asian teams keep on giving contracts that the players can't get out of to go to the NBA, I expect the international players numbers go down in the drafts... And then there is that language barrier... They speak surprisingly poor english around Europe. I was amazed how bad their english skills were in Germany, Italy, Spain...
But we'll see what will happen... A couple of years down the line, the young college players could have entered the league in this draft or the next one from high school as raw talent... Then we will see if college is a good place to study the art of the game...

In my dynasty I had the same draft class with the same players 3 out of the past 7 years. And I see players with the same name all the time like Vuu and Murdock. I hope they change stuff like this for 07.

The best rookie generated were in nba live 03.. no doubt about it...
in live 06, 05 or 04, there are not rookie generated that can be converted in "all-around players" thing that in real life happend, for example Boris Diaw, KG, etc...
I think there should be another indicator that can help us at the time to pick a player... there is an estimated potencial of development but it's not enough... may be a little description or advice like "Allstar potencial" or "better coming from the bench", etc...
Another thing, undersize players... the first post was "Dont know about you guys, but 6'1 SG's with 50 speed get quite annoying after a while."... do You think 6'1 SG's are annoying?... just check this generated SG...
