i used to love nba live 2005 rating system i wonder why ea didnt keep it

i'd rather have players like kobe, wade and lebron fg ratings 70-75 instead of them having fg rating like 80-85.

if nba live 2005 had freestyle superstars it would be better than nba live 06

also with the new rating system players like josh smith, donyell marshall, larry hughes, and joe johnson are overrated.

another thing is it wasnt as easy to score just a slight change the sliders the gameplay was realistic to me

I liked the nba live 2005 ratings much better. I could get much more realistic scores and stats, and I liked the little icons.

You boys are not looking at the big picture... The ratings haven't changed one bit from 2005 to 06! Only the overalls have changed...

In Live 2005, the ratings were from 0-99 on every possible category... And in Live 06, the ratings are between 0-99 in all categories except overall...

Didn't you just love to get those overall 38 rookies from the draft in 2005! In what scenario that player would develop into a usable guy in the 60's??? Never... Simply not possible.

In Live 06, the overall ratings are between 50-99 and not from 0... Ofcourse overall 50 guy is total sheit and couldn't do a thing in Live 06 either, but it was pretty much that way in Live 2005 too... And still you would get guys that called for lower overall ratings than 50! That was just bad...

Live 06 is much better... The rookies are pretty decent and there are only few cases that could call for lower overall than 50 and we never even see them if we don't draft them.

The ratings have not changed... Okay, one more examply why 06 is better than 2005... And it is a problem in 06 too in some ratings... The rookies that come out of the drafts "random" pool are just that, random. Say Kobe has 75 field goal rating and he is one of the best in the league... I remember getting one rookie with a late 1st round pick that had field goals 92 and three pointers 93... The man could not miss a shot... He was an absolute machine on the court. I simply could not lose a game after I got him. Just chugged those threes until the enemy died down... And thus making it so that the best in the NBA have shooting ratings at 80 max, makes it possible to get an even better shooter from the draft!!! Which should never be so. Some of them are good and versatile etc., but they are never best in the NBA from the first game on... LeBron had his difficulties! So did Jordan...

This is still a problem in Live 06 with rookies that have high blocking and stealing ratings... They block and steal too well, even though they don't have high quicknesses or defensive awerenesses...

Live 06 gets my vote...

NBA Live 2005 was a better overall game, IMO.....rating system & all (Y) .......but what about the graphics :!: .....06 was like a HUGE step back in that department....especially the passing, dunk & dribbling animations(N) ......

Metsis has pretty much summed up my feelings on the matter. The rating system is exactly the same, FSS simply sets standards that resulted in some players being overrated in the original rosters. Perhaps with NBA Live 07 utilising both "Star" and "Superstar" levels of moves we won't see that happen...or at least it'll be easier to correct and handle.
