Create A player.

For create a player mode they should make it way different, Instead of having all of those sliders for the face, the should just put like all the players in the NBA's features, like nose, eyes, mouth, hair, and complete face. They should have the same gear and stuff. More tattoos maybe. But for the players attributes you should have to train for them. Like depending on what height, weaight and position the drill is harder. Like for a center the three point shooting is very hard, and for a point guard blocking is hard. But for every general category there should be a different drill for it. Like for speed you should like have to tap a button extremely fast. Or for offensive awarenes have like a memory game for like pass shoot crossover, spin stuff like that. Like passing they should make you do the skills challenge. Or they could have a skills challenge for everyplayer incorporating what skills they need. After that there ratings will be based on how you train them. At the begining of create a player it should ask if its a real player or a fake one so for real ones you can create them with the ratings you want. Just thinking about ways to improve it.

Not a bad idea. Would improve the "Create A Player" mode by alot and make it more in depth (It coule be either a good thing, or bad.)

I'm not a fan of the idea at all, sorry. NBA Live 2000 had a limit on ratings for created players and it can make working with the rosters a bit unpleasant and more time consuming than it needs to be; while it would add a challenge, it would be a mistake in my opinion.

Yea I see where your coming from. Well it could always be a mini game to improve ratings. It could be like a madden mini camp and have like nba cards. lol i dont know.

Err, no.

Way too much effort to create a player. There must be freedom when creating a player's ratings.

I love the idea if it's used to training young guys in Dynasty thought. (Y)

yea dont like the sound of having to train every player you create... i created nearly every player that wasn't on nba live 2006 (ppl like travis diener, ryan gomes, orien greene etc - it was surprising to see how sloppy ea sports were wen creating this game) and i really dont think training 15 players up is time well spent

Not including players isn't EA being sloppy - they cannot legally include players who were not under NBA contract by a certain cut off date. It would seem they can still include players who are not on an NBA roster but still have a contract being paid out by an NBA club which would explain the presence of some players in the free agents pool.

But the fact remains Create-a-Player allows us to add missing players and imposing any kind of limits or necessary training would be an inconvenience. I agree with Nick though, drills to train players in Dynasty Mode would be great and an improvement over leaving it all up to chance, so long as you couldn't cheat your way to a 99 overall player.

Id rather EA change create a player to create a cyberface, where you take a picture of some guy and EA automatically creates his face based off of that (sort of like that eyetoy thing they had for some mlb game). That would save patchers a lot of work.

They did utilise a Face-In-The-Game feature in NBA Live 2000 and NBA Live 2001 but it didn't work out all that well. You still need Create-a-Player for the rest of the player's attributes, not to mention a created appearance when you don't have a photograph available.
