Nominal double teams

Thu Jan 12, 2006 2:04 am

I think nominal double teams would be a great addition to any NBA game...

I play the game setting the CPU's (opponent's) double teams on my best guys in the playbook (I start as my opponent so I can modify my opponent's playbook then move the controller back to my team and play).

Then, you pretty much set the double team and pressure factors on a position, not on a particular player. Say I play with New Jersey and I want the other team to focus on defending Vince Carter and get double teams on him, while leaving Jefferson with no so much pressure, because he will not be the main threat.

So ok, I put double teams on Vince but actually I put double teams on HIS POSITION not on him. If for some reason I get Jefferson out of the SF spot on the bench, get McInnis on the SG spot while moving Vince on the SF spot (where Jefferson was), then it means that now McInnis has double teams and Vince hasn't (because he's playing SF and there's no double teams on the SF spot).

And it's very annoying to move you controller back to the CPU's team in the main menu, re-adjust the double teams and pressure factors and get the controller back on your team and play, every time...

So what I am trying to say is - we need INDIVIDUAL DOUBLE TEAMS, regardless on what position that player plays.

It will be a great addition and easy to implement as well.

it would be good to have, but how on earth would you know if it is easy to implement or not.

What's so hard to implement nominal double teams? It's the same way you implement position double teams... just that instead of positions you use names. Duh...
