Patching Shoes & Rosters

How the heck can i implement these two things into my game? Around the boards i am seeing a few shoe patching threads (the shoes look great i might add!) How exactly do i download them? There's like no link to a zipped up download, instead a picture. What the heck do i do with a picture? Kinda confused. Also, i am wondering if there's any decent roster updates since the release of the game. I'd appreciate it if someone linked me to a good one and where to install it and such.
