This review is hilarious:

The title says NBA Live 07, but this feels more like Moon Physics 07. Gravity apparently triples on EA's parquet floor this season when players have the ball; they lumber around, struggling to lift their feet for each stride. The ball, on the other hand, has more of a zero gravity feel: it takes the orange ages to go from hand to floor to hand again when dribbling. Very close passes between players even feature lunar physics, as the ball will sluggishly float from player to player. This slow-motion feeling changes dramatically, though, once you fire up a shot or leap for a rim-rattling dunk. Once a player leaves his feet his body starts into dismaying convulsions at rocket speed. As a result, shooting the ball looks hurried and very goofy. This also makes it difficult to consistently judge the best point to release the rock-it appears that frames of animation are missing.

Brilliant.

Erh. Mayn this guy is ignorant as hell. One of my first impressions was that this game had some overall impressive animtaions and physics. Realistic movements and human-like physics. And that's just the PC version. I can hardly imagine that the Next Gen should be of a lower standard... (Edit: Didn't try the Next Gen version myself, therefore my incorrect comment here)
I don't know if this guy ever watched a real NBA match, but the game has improved in the right direction in that field.

While the freedom to switch between control sets is nice, you'll rarely use it. It's just too many buttons to press when you're up against a 24-second shot clock.

MYEEES!!!! :P Obviously he straight up suck playing NBA Live...

NBA Live 07 does offer an expanded feature set this season, something sorely missing from last year's edition. You'll now find the All-Star Weekend, Dynasty, and Superstar modes.

Am I missing something? Maybe I suffer from amnesia or something, cus' I'm pretty sure I had these things in '06...
(Edit: Okay, so these things weren't available in last years next gen...... :P

But none of it makes up for a broken game that can't ball on the court. This just doesn't feel like basketball: there's no drama, you'll go full quarters without bothering to glance at the scoreboard, and even the swish of the basket on a long 3-pointer feels off.

Sounds about right... If you're playing on rookie-level. Who the fuck is this guy?

I agree with him that NBA live 07 doesn't deserve a score above 5 maybe 6 but the factor should be the bugs and flaws the game has. In my opinion the playing part of the game is pretty nice and exciting. But I guess you would have to know how to play good, and not be a big pathetic crybaby like this guy...

Live 07 tries to bridge the gap between itself and its rival by adding features, but it doesn't come close to this year's clear basketball champion: NBA 2K7.

And also, if you like basketball games, you're either an NBA Live kinda guy or a 2K type and this guy is 2K. Of course he's gonna sack NBA Live...

Note: I've never tried 2K7, since I don't own a functioning console :? . So I can't be the one to judge which is better.

EDIT: Okay okay. I was wrong. I didn't know that the physics was awful in the next gen version. My humble appologies.

I dont think that people should go by website reviews at all.. Most of the reviews are nearly not what ur gonna think of the game if u dont play it and decide for yaself ya know... Personally, I think Live is good (Next Gen) its way way better than 06' there are somethings that I dont like about it and there are things I love about it.. But I can tell u this there are some serious serious upgrades to this game compared to last yr. The defense is way better and you will not score 90 pts easy like in 2k7.. and teams really run offensive plays settin screens and u can see the screens set clearly, also the fact that every shot u attempt doesnt go in is great from deep or from inside.. so dont go by what these web sites be sayin, take ur own vision n thoughts n use those to judge the game.. Great gamin everyone.. :? :?

SocDK, the review was for the Xbox 360 version. Watch some of the gameplay footage on http://www.gametrailers.com and you'll see what he's talking about. Last year's 360 version didn't have All-Star Weekend or Dynasty (I'm not sure what Superstar mode is), and the jumpshots look pretty strange on the 360 version.

live next gen is down right bad he was right in every way socdk your and idiot and you dont know what your talking about how can you say the physics are good in the game when you take off for a dunk and it's like a rocket was lit beneath you. I'm surprised it got that good of a score but it's obviously was only because the graphics are good.

I don't think think SocDK has even played next-gen and I believe the physics are much better on current gen.

Turns out I'm the fool here :D
I just don't feel that way with the current gen version, so I asumed that next gen couldn't be worse than that. Appears I was wrong

Yes. IR AND IDIOT........... Then you're an idiot.

SocDK, the next gen game has been built from the ground up & it is crap....if the next gen version was current gen gameplay, had none of those big bugs, had the graphics it has for next gen then I would probably get the game....I'll just get 2k7 for my 360 & get a product & company I can trust....

I don't even know where this quote you gave came from, but nobody wants to read this silly name-calling.

Yeah these reviews are really taken with a grain of salt by me. No one cared that gamepro scored the game 80% so why should anyone care now that a lower score was released. I think Live on the 360 is way different from what people were used to on the PC version and XBOX. They can't just use FSS moves so easily now and the AI defense reacts much quicker that it frustrates people not being able to pull off fancy moves and stuff. I also agree that teams now more than ever in NBA Live will run plays on you. Not only that but the versatile PF's like Garnett, Dirk and Brand will shoot a mid range jumper on you quick of you back off of them this year.

The controlls aren't easy master and that has turned many people away from Live. But enjoy the new challenge EA has added in gameplay this year. I miss being able to dunk the way I want at anytime but hey it's a good thing and a good direction EA is headed.

Obviously I'm not gonna let him call me an idiot and let it slide.

I'm not sure how sinking to his level makes you the better person. Then again, I don't care, as this thread is past the point of no return.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 11:56 am

this is great, the more shit reviews that live gets from websites, the more chance there could be of a patch

Some random guy comes up to you and takes a swing at you. Do you take the punch and walk away or do you think "AAW HEELL NO!"? It's not a matter of stooping to anybodys level actually. My mentality just tells me to play or get played.

But screw it. I just get annoyed when people start to call me an idiot, when there's no real reason for verbally attacking me. I'm not trying to start a disussion or fight, and if he would've tried to I would simply brush him off.

I totally agree from what I've seen in the videos.
