Aww man, this is sounding very Madden-esque.

I'm happy they finally included the X-Factor thing because it didn't make sense to have someone like Leonard, who's a shooter, score 35 points in a game. I also like the sounds of dynasty mode and team chemistry. The one thing I hop is that Live doesn't F it up like they've been known to do. Like have a situation that you make a trade but your team morale continually decreases because of beef between a couple players even if you are winning 15 games straight. If you're on a win streak, you should have higher chemistry. But it makes sense in essence if you trade Wade for Kobe and have Kobe and Shaq on the same team. And hopefully this means that you won't be able to have stacked rosters that win 70 games like AI, Kobe, Lebron, KG, and Yao.

ooh nice find man. its some good readings, promising

i like the idea of normal player, star, and superstar, more catagories.... as for the changing of the superstar types on the fly, i love it :D

live07 is gonna be a great game, so much additions and features added...the espn integration in the dynasty mode sounds sick too,the shotstick addition and much more, i cant wait for this game

Thu Jul 13, 2006 12:56 pm

WOW

seems like a fairly large increase in gameplay/dynasty features.

Team chemistry plays a major role on every team, and it now means everything in Live. Beyond the usual set of coaches and trainers you'll need to hire, you'll also need to find an assistant head coach who is in charge of event scheduling. The game isn't about simulating to your next game as now, off days matter, and you'll have to decide when to practice, when to hold press events, and when to give your guys a day off. Every decision you make will have an impact on everything from chemistry to team happiness. You'll even be able to look at a profile of every player and see what they think of their playing time, the overall talent of their team, the bench order, the stability of the roster, and whether or not they think their team has a chance to win. Before making trades, you can preview how team chemistry might be affected, even finding out if certain members of your team don't get along with a player you're trying to acquire. You can hold press events to make your players feel more important about themselves, but watch out, some players don't like dealing with the media at all and will get pissed if you schedule too many interviews. During road trips, you'll even see a map to show how far you've traveled and your team fatigue.

i like that alot :D

Yohance told me about it and I just posted it on the main site, but you've beaten me to it in the Forum. ;)

Sounds pretty good to me, there's still some little things I'm interested to find out about Dynasty Mode (which will hopefully come through our Q&A or the community leader's event) but it sounds like they've focused on the right kind of things this year. I don't like to get my hopes up too high this early in the year but I must say I like the sound of the game so far. Here's hoping there's more good news to come.

Thu Jul 13, 2006 1:26 pm

Hmmm, it probably seems like I'm the only person that's not really feeling the new Live. Honestly, from the screenshots, the game seems rehashed. Players don't even show signs of sweat. You'd think that, with all the craze about adding sweat to players this year, EA would do the same with Live 07 for the PC or current gen systems. And what's up with adding practically everything nowadays to the analog? Does EA totally disregard the fans who still rather use the keyboards? They've also mentioned that there are new buttons, but no mentions of a button for post up... c'mon. And plus, does everyone remember the next gen NBA Live videos shown at E3? Where the players don't move as if they were stuck to the ground? I hope EA didn't leave that out for the PC version as well, also along with jersey movement and facial expressions included.

Thu Jul 13, 2006 1:36 pm

Wow. Even if they'll end up a bit buggy, i'm happy just to hear EA made the effort to include all of these new features. The dynasty features sound intriguing, but i'm exciting about the passing and momentum features. Now we don't have to worry about lob passes being intercepted. The momentum features hopefully will create realistic game scenarios, with occassional comebacks. Ahhh, I can't wait to try this game!

Thu Jul 13, 2006 1:40 pm

Sounds promising.....I'm definately getting this game by the looks of it. (Y)

Thu Jul 13, 2006 1:43 pm

Wow, i'm actually excited about the game now. Mainly because of game momentum and intesity, aswell as some really cool sounding dynasty features.

With that said, i just hope they have solid gameplay, otherwise their features won't work. Same is said for Dynasty, i just hope they have cool player profiles and history recording, otherwise their features are gone to waste.

But man, game momentum, if implented properly, could be AWESOME. That is basically the most vital part to a team vs team game of NBA basketball. On offense you must try to hit a bunch of shots in a row to gain momentum - on defense you must try to stop that. Awesome. I'm not sold on the superstar style crap though. I know a lot of people will love this, but i don't. I wish they wouldn't worry about glitz and glamour like this and just focus on solid basketball fundamentals (Though it seems they have, with momentum and intesity. Sweet!). It's cool to see some sweet animations, but you get sick of them after a few weeks or months of playing the game anyway (Except in the case of NBA 2k6, since their animaions are so life-like, compaed to NBA Live's cartoon). If the superstar stuff actually provides me with playing a realistic game of basketball, then that's great. But i don't see how it will.

I also hope, dear god, that they get a new dribbling animation, otherwise i will literally implode. Yes, from the outside in. Gah, i'm so sick of it. And it's so ugly.

X-factor sounds interesting. I like that they thought of that. It's also interesting to see that EA seem to have the new NBA ball too.

Dynasty sounds like it has finally taken the right turn into the boquet of information, decisions and detail that i've finally been waiting for. I'm not going to get too excited just yet, as i normally am dissapointed every year because of cool sounding features being implented half-arsed, but i'm actually excited this year!

Thu Jul 13, 2006 2:19 pm

We've covered current gen and PSP, but what about next gen? EA acknowledges the disaster that was NBA Live 06 on the 360 and promises everything you'd expect from NBA Live finally being added into the game. That's All-Star Weekend (including the slam dunk contest), a more thorough Dynasty mode (deeper than current gen), players who move and react more like their real-life counterparts, and a few surprises EA isn't ready to drop just yet.

 No fair

Thu Jul 13, 2006 2:30 pm

This sounds like its going to be the best Live EVER! Good thing I already preordered it a couple days ago with the 15 dollars off coupon ea sent me.

Thu Jul 13, 2006 2:47 pm

i posted awhile back that nba live 07 will b the best basketball game ever, and with these new promising features it looks like im goin to b right, especially since the dynasty mode is going to be deeper on next gen...its already deeper than b4 on current gen........now, i cant wait for the release of nba live 07 :D

Thu Jul 13, 2006 2:48 pm

no right anlog stick freestyle dribbles = (N)

momentum meter--nintendo came up with that half a decade ago.

other than that, im liking it. although it does come across as taking everything from 2k6 though.

Thu Jul 13, 2006 2:58 pm

WOW! it's like the NBA 2K features came with the ESPN contract that Live bought. Sounds really promising. I'm actually looking forward for this one.

NBA Lives Presentation + NBA 2K Features + Bunch More Stuff = THE BEST NBA GAME!

Thu Jul 13, 2006 3:19 pm

I'm still not excited. They're on the right track but essentially it's typical EA spin making it sound alot better than it is. Read the draft thing carefully, is that really a big deal? You get a mock draft and draft grades, oooooohhh! Anyways we'll see what happens, they're obviously going to make the game sound as good as humanly possible but until we get demo's/actual reviews in we won't know for sure.

Thu Jul 13, 2006 3:24 pm

is this article for current gen or next gen?

Thu Jul 13, 2006 3:27 pm

its current gen........which makes me really excited for next gen :D

Thu Jul 13, 2006 3:30 pm
