New commentary??

Do you guys reckon that they will change the marv albert and steve kerr for like hubie brown and mike breen cos they now have ESPN??
I reckon they should cos steve kerr just sucked doing the comments in 06'

But Marv Albert is awesome.

I believe Marv Albert and Steve Kerr are signed on for NBA Live 07 and maybe a game or two after that but I couldn't say for sure.

Marv is good, but Steve's comments were very wrongly timed... He just talked a lot of bull in Live 06... Especially early in the game...

I hope they get more out of this years team... More commentary etc. so that it doesn't get repetetive too quickly.

My suggestion of multiple commentator teams would still rock the house... Marv and Steve, the ESPN guys, I'd like to hear Barkley call some games, cause the dudes crazy!

That's a common symptom of video game commentary more than a problem with Kerr's recorded lines though. Better selection of the lines would prevent that problem because as you pointed out, late game observations or statements inappropriate after the first couple of baskets of the game get pulled up way too early.

i hate steve kerr's comments! but marv... i like his' since i bagan playing live! i want ea to replase kerr with kenny smith! YEAH!!! this team will ROCK THE GAME!it would be awesome!

i dont care who comentaters if they can add some depth, so i dont know what they are gonna say, or they say something that is true for some players and not for others-
e.g-'Iverson spinning around and all that, it's just not in his game' whereas like 'Shaq spinning around and all that, it's just not in his game'

there's a right time for the right comentary-they just put in on shuffle or something, every 5th player they say this, every 7th they say that. There should be lots of differnet things about each player-that might actually help

i think that they should re-do all the commentry, its boring and very repetitive

Then if Kenny can't do the dunk & 3pt contest, then I think they should bring in Sir Charles.

I shudder at the thought of any ESPN commentators getting anywhere near NBA Live (with the exception of Hubie Brown because he is tight and originally from TNT)
If I have to sit through games with Bill Walton, Dan Patrick, Stuart Scott, or even *gasp* Steven A. Smith, wow that might actually make me go to 2k.

I thought Live basketball games have bad commentary... But when I bought FIFA and Winning Eleven soccer games, they are just AWWWWWWful.

Ernie Johnson. I'm guessing they'll bring someone else in alongside him or have a different team for the ASW. I don't think they'd have EJ go solo with it.

Anyway, Kerr's lines are somewhat better in the next-gen version of Live 06 lol. He says some funny things like when you repeatedly tab the jump/block button he'll just pop out of nowhere and say "STOP JUMPING!!! *chuckles*"

I don't think Kerr's commentary is bad, it is just bugged to always play things at times that don't make any damn sense.

Like "That's what you want late in a close game...." right after tipoff. Or "When a streaky scorer gets going early...." when a scrub center makes a dunk with 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter.

It would be good if it was like the 2k series commentary how while the game is
loading it introduces the home teams best player and what he's really nice
in, and then in half time they just alked about the game and the shot attemps
and the 2 players at halfs, that would make live even more nicer.

Even after playing the game on a regular basis since its release, I find new commentary lines that I've never heard before, and I think Steve Kerr will only get better with the new game, and they'll have even more comments next year I'm sure. I'm happy with Kerr and Marv going on. I'd keep Kerr in a hearbeat if it garunteed keeping Marv.

steve kerr is a great commentator. you can see his lines are insightful and some of them are kinda fun too.

the programming for his commentary beeing awful is not his fault.
if the game doesn't check the game situation when a certain line is beeing played why blame steve kerr?

they need to fix the commentary of 06....... i hated it how
they complemented the defence so often after you hit a good shot.

I said this before and I'll say it again. EA needs to update the "triggers" that tell the game engine what just happened in the game, and what commentary to use for it. And of course, add alot more variety of spoken lines for a given situation.

I've heard "They've been taking bad shots all night long" in the opening minutes of a game waaaaaay too many times. I agree 100.1% with my man, Pdub.

ive also heard................ "you know what I'd like to see? someone go through the legs...TWICE!! ....come on man! thats not going to happen!!!!"

after i pulled a through the legs twice on the previous dunk...................

Marv Albert = the best.
I also love Stuart Scott's pregame commentary in NBA 2k5.
