NBA LIVE 07 Dynasty Crash Issue

Postby grantgreat04 on Thu Sep 25, 2008 6:56 am

I am in the second year of a dynasty. The stupid thing keeps crashing on a day in which there are no scheduled games, dec. 31. I have checked for any editing issues, but I have not done any editing other than primacy editing. I also ran the DynastySimulationEngine 2.1 program which I always run and don't have problems with. So, any editing I had done with primacy was changed anyway. That said, this is not a primacy issue. I have also deleted the Workingdb and currentdb folders in my documents. I even reloaded the Origdb folder from the cd into the program files location as well as in my documents. It still crashes. I am using dbf Manager to edit dbf files if that matters, which i don't think it does. I also tried loading a players.dbf file from an older date of the same dynasty but it doesn't work either.

Here is what I get
CODEBASE ERROR

Error #: -70
Error #: 91102
Reading File
Dfile4…()
C:\Documents and settings\Gdawg\My documents\NBA LIVE 07\Database\Workindb\Players.dbf

So I know it is a working database error but i can't fix it!

All comments will be appreciated even if you can't help me.
thanks in advance!

I believe I know why it is crashing.

Dynasty mode creates a duplicate of each of your team's players in the dbf file. That duplicate is used to compare the rating differences at the end of the season showing how your players progressed. I believe if you edit that duplicate, the dynasty will eventually crash.

Since you used the Dynasty Sim Engine batch files to modify the players dbf to get better sim results, it probably edited the player progressions duplicates and causes an error when something from that dbf file is cross checked with the franchise dat file.

I re-read your post, and I may be wrong. I did this before for someone, and I was able to sim right past the crash point with no trouble. So, upload your dynasty to rapidshare.com or speedyshare or sendspace and post the link in this thread and I'll see if I can load it and sim past the crash point.

Sorry it crashes for me at the same point.

The crazy thing I noticed is that several of the files have dates 2 days apart. That can't be good. Also, when scheduling events, they don't add on to the current ones that are already shown.

So I guess there's nothing that can be done to fix it? Also, what can I do to avoid this problem in the future if I continue using the dynasty sim engine?
Thanks for your help!
