How to apply roster patch

I downloaded a roster patch and copied all the files to both the My Documents directory for EA Sports as well as the install C:/Program files directory but it did not work...what am I doing wrong?

My Documents\NBA LIVE 07\saves.

If you have no saves folder create a new folder named saves and place it in there.
