EA Confirms one less basketball title for launch.

US, November 8, 2006 - It's been forever since we last heard anything about the PlayStation 3 version of NBA Live 07 (which was announced at E3 2006 back in May), but that's for good reason. According to EA representatives, whom we spoke with just moments ago, the PS3 edition of Live has been cancelled altogether and will not be coming out for the system until next year (NBA Live 08).

"We are concentrating our efforts on creating a spectacular NBA Street: Homecourt [instead of porting NBA Live 07]," said David Tinson, Public Relations Manager, EA Canada. "[Homecourt] is coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 early next year."

I thought porting was their speciality. But actually, a smart decision for once, not to release a buggy and unfinished game.

This is probably for the best. However, this is really telling what a horribel game Nba Live 07 is. For EA to actually cancel one of their top sellers for a Playstation release is pretty incredible.

I am actually not surprised, and for anyone who has actually played Live 07 NextGen I dont think would be surprised either.

I laugh when people think this is somehow PS3's fault, and this is a reason why PS3 will fail. Clearly if you know anything about NBA Live you would know this game really sucks and shouldn't have been for sale for any platform. EA did a smart move, and this just makes the quality of launch titles for the PS3 go up dramatically.

Why don't he just say, We know Our NBA Live 07 is garbage and no one will buy it for the Ps3 LOL

I don't even play 07 anymore, 2k7 is fun at the moment until 08

EA knew that 2k will pwn them so they just quit... Now 2k Sports must work realy hard to totally pwn EA and take the control of Basketball simulation games on consoles
Well if EA wants to be at the top they have to do something incredible.. Damn i just don't know.. Some kinda Basketball sim revolution...
