how to x factor

how can I unlock the x factor player? I am using a ps2 controller. what should I do?

L1 is my superstar trigger.

Wait until the X icon is flashing, then hold L1 and press R3 (the right analog) as if it were a button.

When the X icon is already flashing, hold C and press R..

you can activate the x factor even when using a keyboard. you can pause the game and go to x factor menu, then click the "activate x factor" of the player (if it is already unlock of course).
