forget rookie scouting? I know there is a way

In players.dbf once you've started your dynasty the next class of rookies appears. What do I need to edit so I do not have to worry about scouting? I'm sure it's similar to past years but I cannot seem to find the thread.

Thanks.

Edit their ratings

I'm talking about in the season before drafting, so you can know all the A-F assignments accurately. I think there was something with 1s and 10s that I recall from an earlier year, but to what categories do you have to make the necessary changes to?

Where's the fun in getting a 99 overall guy in a draft? :?

I think there is a misunderstanding here e-mat. I don't want to edit the RATINGS, but get the complete and accurate scouting reports for the upcoming rookies. I remember seeing something about doing this from previous LIVEs, but I cannot seem to find the thread.

I think he's talking about seeing the actual ratings of upcoming rookies rather than grades such as B in 3-point shooting.

I haven't seen anything like this but I'm sure if this clears anything up someone will be able to help.

Open players.dbf with excel, scroll down to the rookies and then right. The ratings are the ones just before the speech IDs. (Columns ED to EW)

The order should be:

FG, 3P FG, FT, Inside Sc., Dunking, Stealing, Blocking, Def. Aw., Off. Reb, Def. Reb, Passing, Off. Aw., Dribbling, Quickness, Jumping, Strength, Speed, Stamina, Hardiness, 3P Att. (the last one defines how often a player will attempt a three-pointer)

Now. To see the accurate scouting reports you have the columns DH to DC. There are 19 values, none for 3p Att. The values show how many times you have scouted a rookie's rating from none to 10. I believe that setting all to 10 would get you most accurate reports.

PS. Editin the files with Excel might crash your game, so make a backup before you edit and try to save the file as the same format.
Give respect, get respect.

thank you very much Heiks - that was what I was looking for. I ended up editing some from 10 to 0 and others from 0 to 10 but it seems to work. I don't know if I needed to do all of what I did, but it's done, so there. Thanks.
