Releasing patches as separate .fsh files vs .viv files

I'm surprised that people are releasing patches as several .fsh files that you dump into /sgsm rather than .viv files to put in /stadia.

If I dump files into /sgsm, that directory becomes completely unmanageable, and it's confusing to delete a file if you don't like it; if you make it one .viv file, you can quickly switch between different patches by renaming them, or delete it if you don't like it....

Presumably this is where the confusion about whether '06 jerseys work or not comes up; certain files from '06 jerseys work if you plug them into an '07 viv, which is what happens if you dump random .fsh files into /sgsm

but I think you get that weird gray plaid thing if you actually try to use an '06 jersey file.
