How many ppl using EA DOWNLOADER to get the game?

Hey!!!!
How many of you guys bought it with ea downloader??? Just wondering. I live in Italy, i bought the north american version, and I really hope to use it since the america realease date (26th). It really wouldn't make sense if they let me buy it but they force me to wait until 6th october. Btw, let me know how many ppl did this and when you think u'll be allowed to play...

I used EA Downloader to buy Madden 07 and was able to install the second the countdown hit 0. However, I now despise EA Downloader because it opens every time I run Madden and tries to connect to EA's server and log me in. Fortunately, I can Alt-Tab out of Madden and close it without any ill effects. I'm getting Live on PC-DVD just to eliminate this annoyance.

NBA Live 06 now sells used for $10.

If you download, next year you cannot sell used.

Why would the download version, without media you can later sell used, be priced the same?

Sorry for the slow response - it doesn't work if you uninstall EA Downloader; I believe it has to connect to EA's server at the very minimum once a week to verify the game or something. Only good thing about the Downloader is getting it early.

Sorry for double post but unrelated to last comment -

I think US people at least who bought on EA Downloader can play 48 minutes after this post was made.....might be 1 day and 48 minutes....I'm confused about EA's countdown.

It should still be cheaper...

Think about it:

You don't get a box. You don't get a CD. You don't get a manual.

It should be cheaper.

The fact is, the cost of printing the box, putting the box together, printing and burning the CD/Jewl Case, and printing the manual cost much more than the 1.5gb of bandwidth that the download uses.

Thats why I buy all of my steam (Half Life 2, Half Life) games in the store. Costs the same, plus I get a CD and box, etc.

but with HL, you can just buy a CD key for a cheap price and download practically everything HL related and burn it on CD/DVD

Anyone know how to purchase the downloadable version of Live 2007? I went to the EA Store and it appears the only version available for purchase is the DVD version. Is the downloadable version not available yet? Thanks!
