I'm guessing if you're a PC user then you could get it from overseas....otherwise you'll have to wait like the rest of us....

It was also a mistake that's unlikely to be repeated. :(

And wade4325, you are correct. Here in Australia we need the PAL version and US stores only sell the NTSC version.

if you have a chipped ps2, you can run ntsc games, and i think action replay discs also have that functionality. not entirely sure though.

Yes, Koberulz is correct: a ps2 with a modchip is able to run NTSC games on a PAL version of PS2. However a chip is not something you can install yourself and would require a "professional" to install

An alternative (which I use) is something called a Flip Top cover combined with Swap Magic. It's for the new, smaller version of the PS2 (there's an alternative for the old, bigger version of the PS2, but I can't remember what it's called). Basically you remove the original top cover (you know the one you open to put in discs) and replace it with the Flip Top cover. There's a manual on how to do so with the product. The Flip Top can still be opened the regular way, but you can also flip it open without pressing the "eject" button on you PS. Now, every time you want to play a NTSC game you first put in the Swap Magic disc, which loads a program. When it says it's ready to boot you just open the Flip Top, put in the game and reboot via the controller. I've had this for quite some time and it works perfect. Here's a link - it's a Canadian site but I'm sure you can find a internet store located in Australia

BTW you need a RGB cable in order to get colors for the games, with a regular cable it'll be black-and-white. In Denmark I was able to buy a set containing the Flip Top, 2 Swap Magic discs and a RGB cable

Edit:
Because I'm a helpful guy (who uses every excuse to distract himself from his schoolwork) I researched what the equivalant of the Flip Top for the older model is called; it's called a Slide Tool and requires you to remove the front panel of your consol - don't have a link in english though

2nd edit:
Okay, just found out that there's actually also a Flip Top available for the old model. Here's a link

Correct. It was not meant to be released that early.

if we Australians hadnt got so excited and told the world we had the game before them, they never would have noticed the mistake. Damn our natural arrogance.

Only the PC version came out earlier in Aus, the ps/xbox came out october for live 06 so most likely the same time for 07

My guess would be at least a couple of weeks after the North American release.
