Edit salary cap problem

Ok so I have used the Wiki article to edit my salary cap in my dynasty. I have verified that the hex codes in my franchise.dat have been replaced. I closed and reopened that file and now the original hex codes are not found and the new codes are. However, when I open up my franchise I still see the old numbers. What is going on?
