NBA Live 06 dynasty simulation crash

I have encountered a bit of a trouble here in my dynasty mode. I just finished off my season and playoffs and began the off-season. However, I got through the draft lottery and the rookie scouting, and when it was time for me to re-sign players the game crashed. I have tried again and it keeps on crashing and exits to windows everytime i reach the re-signing players section. I have encountered a similar problem during the season once and it was because i had changed some of the .dbf files to keep up with the current NBA trades. Everytime i reached the thunders to play the game crashed. I found out through this forum the problem, which was because of my moves through .dbf editor many teams were exceeding the max number of players. When i fixed this the dynasty worked fine again. I guess all in all what i'm asking is what would generally be the cause of the game to crash regarding re-signing players/salary caps. I mention salary caps because I also changed the salary cap so that teams would make trades and sign free agents throughout the dynasty. Could this be the cause of the crash? Any information regarding the .dbf editing of the player contract/salary cap would be much appreciated. Sorry for this long post. Thank you for your time.
