CHANGE MAIN MENU THEME COLORS

Postby baxxterr23 on Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:21 pm

Just returned to these forums after a year!! Welcome back to myself!

Since the theme colors for the Main Menu for NBA Live 2003 and Live 07 can be changed (orange to blue, white to yellow respectively), can this also be possible for NBA LIVE 06? What files are needed for editing? Or in need of adding?

It's certainly possible to completely customise the menus by editing the appropriate art files. Here's one example of a custom menu art patch, designed for the NBA Live PC Project for NBA Live 06.

Can I just copy the background files in Live 2005 and paste to the 06 version so as to get the "feel" of 2005?

Possibly. If the game crashes or the effect isn't to your liking, you can just delete those files from the sgsm folder and go back to the default menus.

Also, how can I replace this:

to the Houston Dunk Contest? I'm talking about the linear-like titantron (in 2005) where it says "DUNK" and has animations during the Contest. Since in 06, it's just red without any animations, what files do I have to replace with?

Try the All-Star stadium files from NBA Live 2005 - the files will begin with asnw and alls. I'm not sure if they're 100% compatible though, you may experience crashing if it isn't. Some files are backwards and forwards compatible, others are not.

Andrew, my game crashed copying the stadia files.

BUT it turns out that the dunk contest files are in dunk.viv, with an even more detailed "DUNK" logo and the stars moving. I found out it was in "DUNK.FSH" The starsLed part in dunkstd_vram.fsh (in dunk.viv) MIGHT be the reason why that Red All-Star Dorna is there, making the animation version nonfunctional.

Any solution to this?

To prove my point:

dunk.fsh (DUNK_03 File)

06 version:

As I said, if the .vivs are not compatible you might want to try extracting lone files as needed and placing them in sgsm so that the game loads them instead.

I was successful in making the dunk display move, but the lighting to the audience darkened. I wanted to retain the better lighting the 06 version has. I can't really tell which of the files was it located:

(Based on what files I copied from 2005)
dunkstd_vram.fsh - I really doubt it's in here
dunkstd_trans.ebo
dunkstd_scriptorInfo.o
dunkstd_lowref.ebo
dunkstd_highref.ebo
dunkstd_bloom.o
dunkstd_3dsecurity.o
dunkstd_3dcrowd.o
dunkstd_3dcamera.o

The problem might come from the bolded files, but ebodit can't run on my computer, considering it's Ebodit for Vista. :(
