Few tips for 06

Postby cro_dark91 on Sat Feb 20, 2010 7:26 am

I will try NBA Live 06 as I see that many of you say its best to play. So I would like to know what things should I do to make the best gameplay possible, and which files should I download.

That was my first move :) but I would like to know something about the settings in the game. I see that some guys don't like freestyle superstar feature. Why is it bad and is there anything else that I could change to make it better... For example, in 05 I had to make a whole lot of changes to make a realistic game, like putting the blocking ability to zero otherwise I would had like at least 10 blocks in a 6min qtr...

At times it can be overpowering, especially in the hands of the CPU, but I like it because it gives the user a high percentage move to counteract the CPU's comeback logic. I've released a batch file that will quickly disable all Freestyle Superstars abilities in any roster for those who don't want to use the feature. You can also disable and enable FSS abilities from within the game, but the batch file will disable the abilities for all players quickly and easily.

One question, in NBA 2005 I could cover the ball on offense and face up/box out on defense with a default key C. Now I see that there's no key for this!? Is it possible to do it in NBA 2006? pls respond asap

It's possible if you using a dual analog gamepad. Otherwise, you'll need to edit the controller configuration file to bind the keyboard to gamepad functions. That solution has been posted several times in the past, run a search here in the NBA Live 06 section and you should be able to bring it up. Something along the lines of bind gamepad keyboard should bring up some results.

cro_dark91 were u able to map the PPJOY correctly? I tried it a thousand times but my control configuration is always on the mess. My players can do a backdown/post up move, but they can't shoot

I'm sure there have been a few more threads on the matter, they might be able to offer some further tips. I play with a dual analog gamepad so I must admit I haven't explored the ppjoy option.

I tried to reconfigure my setting on PPJOY last night but with no luck. I guess we should forget about the post moves  Hopefully someone will share their settings here

EDIT:

I found a tutorial in youtube but its based on NBA LIve 2007. Maybe we can get some ideas with this vid

Finally I made it, but there's no crossover/spin button, and if I make 13 buttons and put crossover as 13th, then everytime I press it, it calls a post up action... Is there a solution for this?

bro,you just need to change the control of post up to other. Then you will get the cross over/spin but the post up will no longer function....
