Editing .dbf files with different software?

Postby Duckmeister on Fri Feb 19, 2010 7:43 am

Currently, I'm trying to do a few player/staff edits, and I saw that I need a .dbf editor to do so. I currently have no access to MS Access or Excel, and I don't really want to download something like DB Commander which will nag me to pay for it all the time. I just want to edit a few values for my own use, so there's no reason for me to have anything fancy. Can anyone recommend some free software that would do the trick? I would really appreciate it.

open office

free microsoft office alternative and "Calc" (aka Excel) does a great job of editing the DBFs without corrupting them in my experience with the program
Opinions are my own.

You can also continue to make basic edits with DB Commander long after the trial expires. Failing that, I'd second the suggestion of OpenOffice.

Thanks, this worked perfectly. No corruption, everything was easily editable, and worked just fine in the game.
