Erasing all the traces of NBALive 06

Just wandering if it's possible and legal to erase all the traces of NBALive 06 to make it an entirely new game with the name NBALive PC..In that way we can build our own immortal game, we just need to update the rosters periodically..I mean the courts and the startup video should no longer bear the NBALive 06 logo instead be replaced with NBALive PC.. just wandering..thanks..
