Hidden Teams?

I was playing around with the players.dbf file and started filtering by team number. So far I've found what looks like classic 1960s Celtics and the 1992 dream team.

Are there really hidden teams in the nba live pc project? and how do we "unlock" them?

my thinking is i have to create the team in teams.dbf and teamgear.dbf. Anybody have a complete list of which teams are hidden?

They're there because the rosters are originally a conversion from the NBA Live 08 current rosters (and thus NBA Live 08's players.dbf file). Entries for players on classic teams are in NBA Live 08's database by default, presumably for a classic rosters feature that fell through due to licensing issues.

If you wanted to make use of them, you can certainly create the appropriate custom teams. Be advised however that there is no art for nearly all of those players, so you'll be playing with a bunch of players with pink heads.

Yeah, I ended up 'activating' just a few of the 1990s teams (team 67 - 1990 Pistons, team 68 - 1995 Rockets, team 69 - 1998 Bulls, team 80 - Dream Team I, team 81 - Dream Team III).

As far as solving the problem with the pink heads, let's just say a lot of random bench players now look like Mark Price.

You could also take some of the generic faces used for generated rookies and use them if you wanted to have faces that somewhat resembled the actual players (or at least had similar hairstyles, facial hair and skin tones).
