Problem transferring with DB Commander

Postby Lakers'fan on Sat Jul 19, 2008 4:36 am

Can anyone help me?

I try to make transfers with DB Commander on the Dynasty mode, but the game crashes when I try to train my players using the assistant coach. I made the procedure described on the tutorial. Is there anything I should do to avoid crashing?

Note that there are two entries for players on your team in Dynasty Mode, one that appears in the active rosters and another that's used for the development comparison screen. You'll need to edit both entries.

Both entries are in players.dbf. The second will be at the bottom of the database.

I'm not sure what you're asking in your second question. Are you asking how to change a team's default home and away jerseys?

Yeah. For example: The default home and away jersey for the game are the 2005/06 jerseys. I have the 1997/98 roster patch and I want to make the 1997/98's jerseys default for this roster without messing up with the 2005/06. Can it be done?

thx a lot

Sure, you just need to edit the JERSEYTYPE. Just switch the values between the 05/06 and 97/98 jerseys; make the 97/98 home and away jerseys' JERSEYTYPE 0 and 1 respectively and change the 05/06 home and away jerseys' JERSEYTYPE to 3 and 4 respectively.

Ah, of course. The only way to get around that is editing the art, changing the 05/06 art files to the 97/98 jerseys and vice versa.

Thx Andrew

Sorry to bug you another time...I was trying to edit the players.dbf making the transfers. I changed the regular entry for each player but the other entry that you mentioned is for my players but with the value of 40 in the TEAM column? What should I do with thse players? How to edit these guys?

When working with the default rosters you mean? Some players will have multiple entries but you only have to worry about the ones on teams 0-29.

no...when i open the players.dbf of a dynasty roster. It has only one entry per player, except for my team players which have another entry, but with 40 in the team column

Ah, OK. In Dynasty Mode, the game uses Team ID 40 (normally the Legends pool) for the second entry for players on your team ie. the one that is used for the progression comparison screen.

hmm..so how do I edit that entry without the game crashing when I try to train someone? For an example, if I own Kobe and want to trade him for T-mac...I changed kobe's regular entry TEAM and CASHTEAM to Houston's ID and T-mac's to Lakers' ID. What do I have to do with the 40 TEAM in order to avoid crashing?

I'm pretty sure you need to change the TEAM value for that entry as well.

Ok, so I only need to change both kobe's entry to Houston's ID and keep T-mac's with only the regular entry right?

Hmmm...OK, try changing the second entry for Kobe to Tracy McGrady (with all the appropriate data), but leave the TEAM number as being 40.
