The NBA Live PC mod Requests Bin

Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

My suggestions:

1. Players shoud have realistic salaries  (if possible)

2. Delete those retired players
3. Speech I.D.'s for 2008 rookies

I was thinking of putting a back up man to man move similiar to NBA live 2008. IN NBA live 2006 only CPU can initiate that move.

The first two are standard features of the roster updates so no problem there. We'll see what can be done about custom speech files.

I don't get it. You use the right analog stick to backdown by moving and holding it down. :?

Just a question: Will the courts be updated? or will we all have to use the court patches available from LIVE 07?

Glad to hear that Andrew! (Y)

Another request

Is it possible to eliminate the "quick shot"? :-( I hate it when my players do that, its really awkward. I believe EA has disabled it in NBA 2008.

Not sure if this has been posted, but a new putback animation would be nice. The one Live has now just looks very unrealistic, it seems like almost the whole player's body aligns with the rim.. I just want to see a player go straight up and down on a putback, which would be more realistic and easier on the eyes :P

Thanks for the tip. Will check it out.

EDIT: It's a little offtopic here. Found the thread and downloaded the PPJoy program and followed the instructions given. However, when I load the program and run Live 06, there doesn't seem to have this Controller which I've saved.

It might be too much trouble but it would be great to have an updated legend pool with better ratings and more legends (Pippen, Dumars, DeBusschere, etc. Just said the first that came to my mind). :D

About ratings, players like Larry Bird should be modified. His 3-point and passing ratings are ridiculous.

He was very good but his %s aren't that impressive and 95 sounds like a lot.

.376 for his entire career.

I dont remember the exact rebounding ratings but i think he is a bit underrated there.

Actually, he had 1,727 attemps in his 13-years career and thats a lot so a 94 in 3-point rating should be fine. ( Reggie Miller had 820 in 18 seasons.)

But he has 99 in passing and thats is totally overrated.

And 42-61 in rebound for a player that averaged 10 rebounds per game in his career is not right. (Just checked the ratings.)

But there are players worse rated than Bird. Abdul-Jabbar has an 83 overall and Moses Malone 77.

Bird's 3 pt rating is fair, stats only show so much. He didn't need as much space to get a good look. A good look for Bird, is a bad shot for nearly any other player.

A 99 for passing is a bit suspect though, I'm thinking mid-low 80s for passing. Bird was a better rebounder than passer, Magic was a better passer than rebounder.

Jabbar and Moses seem like they were rated from the end of their careers, rather than the peaks.

I was thinking about a millenium or 2000's allstar team to go along with the other decade squads.

Is there anyway that we can alter the Opponent CPU team's rotation in a regular play now or season game? So that the CPU can have variable 7-10 man rotation instead of the CPU team always playing 5 man off the bench.

For example: Golden State played with a short bench while a team who is deeper like the Mavericks would play with a longer bench

To an extent. You can adjust the Fatigue ratings so that the CPU will keep players in the game longer but that's not necessarily a desirable solution.

About the legends, Most of the players included in the players directory of nba.com should be in: http://www.nba.com/history/players/index.html + some more like Rodman that never got recognition because of the obvious reasons.

I am almost done making a playlist with most of the best about legends from Youtube. I will post a link once it is ready.
Not sure but i think it can be of some help. For example, there you can see that while Dr.J is a 99 dunker Gervin is more of a 80 (instead of the 99 EA gave him)
