drafted players' overall ratings

In my dynasty that I've played for a long time, all real players have retired and only drafted players are left. It seems to me that the overall skill level of the league is ridiculously low. It's hard to find a player with an overall rating above 79 and the allstar team is packed with players ranging from mid 60s to upper 70s. There are only a couple players left with superstar abilities and they're all 3-point superstars.


am i doing something wrong with coaching my players (as with the rest of the league)? or players just don't develop fast enough in the game?

It's an issue with the game, generated rookies do tend to have lower ratings in NBA Live 06.

andrew, have you noticed the same in '07? so editing the player.dbf is the only way to get an occasional 'Lebron' caliber player later in the dynasty? just curious if there's a way to correct this somehow

NBA Live 07 tends to have higher rated generated rookies compared to NBA Live 06. As far as of 06 is concerned, the only fix is to do a bit work on the rookies yourself so they have a better chance of becoming stars.

ok, thanx andrew; actually, i think i like that better; it'll keep the MJs, Wades and Lebrons few and far between plus you can make sure teams that get the #1 pick draft a stud franchise player

i wished all the player ratings were somewhat lower anyways; makes the 'legends' really feel like something special
