Star players age?

Is this a bad idea? My friend and I want to make all the star players younger so we used their ages from the 2001-2002 season for example

Kobe 23
T Mac 22
Shaq 30
Duncan 25
KG 25
AI 26
Kidd 28
Nash 27

It depends what you're trying to achieve. If you're trying to keep them from retiring earlier, then it's a sound method of achieving that. If realism is your aim then I'd say it isn't the best approach.
