Big Problem: Cannot face away from basket???

There is a problem with recent NBA Live title I've played Live 05 and 06 on Xbox you cannot dribble away from your own basket!! As soon as you dribble out of the key facing away he just turns around and faces the basket (and therefore faces the defender on him). This is an extremely unrealistic aspect of the game as facing the defender (showing him the ball) is not the best way in real to normally play in offense. Normally you want to have yourself side-on or FACING AWAY to keep the ball OUT OF REACH of the opponent.

I realise you can face away on very limited occasions only when pivoting or spinning on a drive and I also realise you can play side-on with the ball in these games, but in NBA Live 2000-2003 I could just simply turn away from the defender or do a quick 360 degreee turn or on spot a little u turn anywhere. What's going on? Why the change??

A nice little u turn allows you to find good space for a jumper and sorts other possiblities that happen in real. You could do this in older versions. I believe this is a huge restriction on the games capabilites in simulating real basketball everything else is relatively close to realistic in comparison but this seems a huge mistake to me.

I haven't played 07 so don't know if fixed but,

Anyone have ideas on why this is? or Why it should be?
If not, I remain to believe 05 and 06 suck.

One possibility

I can only think of possible 1 reason for implementation of this restriction: To make it easier to steal->turnover->defend.
If defense/stealing/turnover was lacking realism, fixing it by detracting/restricting realsim in offense is no answer to me.
The answer would be to find the thing lacking in realism in the game causing the ripple effect of unrealism in turnover/stealing/defense. This may or may not be in offense or defense. It may even be a regulation such as the ball, court or ring etc. Remember this is only dealing with a hypothetical though.

Unless of coarse you think allowing dribbling facing away from the basket is not realistic (for some unknown reason).
